So the Canadian system is racist? Why doesn't Canada have an open border policy and let in everybody and their brothers?
You are all over the place. Stared this thread with a pointless/meaningless claim: “If the Canadian system is so great, etc etc). I took time to explain why your conclusions are way off. I also explained the most important point which is access for everyone to healthcare. Also there is no connection between developing a vaccine and general public healthcare. You decided to ignore everything and now bring the totally unrelated issue of immigration.... The American system’s problem is not immigration but the “private, for profit” market that puts the public’s health as last priority. When healthcare is treated by same standards as fashionable shoes expect costs to rise everyday following “grab as much as you can” philosophy.
LOL. Thanks for the laughs. How long is the average wait for an MRI? CT scan? Elective surgery?
Your doctors suck compared to ours as well. My recent back surgery that cost over 200k, I’m glad that my doctor did it and not some government employee who probably doesn’t even make that much money, not nearly as much as they should at least.
You want the doctors who make the most money here because....ding ding, they’re the best.
Good health insurance is easily attainable in this country with any decent job. If you’re disabled and can’t work you get Medicare.
Interesting nonsense. Canada's outcomes are equal to or better than the U.S. across the board along with the U.S. for a time experiencing it's third largest cause of preventable deaths being from medical errors either by your doctors or hospitals.
government employee??? WTF??
Proof you know nothing about which you write. Canada's Doctors are all self employed. All Hospitals are privately owned.
"Ding ding", are you one who actually still equates salary to performance in today's world?
"In a 2019 Medscape survey of physicians, family doctors across all states earn an average of $237,000 after taxes and expenses and medical specialists earned around $341,000. This is actually lower than the Canadian average in 2018, where Canadian family doctors earned an average gross salary of $281,000 and medical specialists earned $360,000. Since operations costs in Canada are about 20% of gross salary, the average Canadian family doctor and medical specialist took home around $225,000 and $288,000, respectively – which is a much smaller pay gap than is often implied in popular media for Canadian doctor salary vs US."
Now where were we again regarding the topic - oh yeah some silliness about a healthcare sytem having anything whatsoever to do with vaccine manufacturing.
I live in Canada. We are begging for vaccines because our 'vaccine-making' industry is close to none-existant, which they will probably fix after this pandemic.
Our HC system does have its flaws, but in this case, one has nothing to do with the other.

Congratulations, you know how to google information slanted to your views. And know how to make text blue. So, let me get this straight....are you implying that the Canadian healthcare system is better than here?
All the Harvard medical (or wherever high end) grads don't want to be doctors in Alberta.
Canada has been begging everybody for vaccines. Shouldn’t the healthcare wonder of the world be able to take care of itself?
let me lay this out for you in a way you might be able to follow.
you're comparing two completely disparate things.
1. a healthcare system that is to provide, you know... healthcare for its citizens. to pay for their medical visits and whatnot.
2. research and technology in the medical field produces vaccines.

You can always tell when someone knows nothing about our healthcare system. Government employee??? LOL
I also think that they equate our system and it's facilities to what existed in the old USSR
as with real estate, it's all about location.
there are some places that are like a war zone, and some places that are extremely safe.
overall, the US is not the most dangerous country in the world, nor is it the safest.
