The direction we are heading is getting scary folks. If we live in a country where you get fired for calling for due process, that is scary. Especially when this is driven and accepted by elected officials and government employees. We are a few steps away from mob rule with all logic, reason, and rights being thrown out the window. People will eventually be thrown in prison for their constitutional rights.

No, we have now reached that point. Unless the politicians, of both parties, get some nerve up and start to soon call for laws to be obeyed and enforced, we'll be over the edge. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening.

Sometimes I fear that we are close to French Revolution stage.

Sounds more like a majority of the city counsel preferred to give control of the Police to the mayor.

The incident happened on the city manager’s watch. None of us are privy to the behind the scenes. Sounds like a tad of a stretch to attribute the dismissal to some of the words.

I would say it's unbelievable, but at this point unfortunately it is believable.

Those into Antifa ideology are anarchists and oppose authority and government, probably the least likely to vote for anyone.

Those who engage in wanton violence and mayhem in the name of BLM are also not likely to vote for anyone.

Yes those who are very politically active to the point where they commit continual insurrection for leftist causes months on end are "least likely to vote" as they literally demand that Trump must go.

That's a generous take...

But we all know the reality, so kindly voiced by one of the councillors at the meeting that voted to fire him:

At a virtual council workshop, Council Member Kris Lawrence-Anderson said she voted to remove the city manager because she feared for her property and retaliation by protestors if she had voted to keep him.

"He was doing a great job. I respect him dearly," she said. "I didn't want repercussions at a personal level."

Appeasement of the wild thug mobs is what this was about.
