More important are hospitalizations and deaths.

I watched the "heated" exchange between Jorden and Fauci. Jordan kept asking the one question I've been dying to know the answer as well - how low do case levels need to get before these recommendations come off? Fauci refused to answer, repeating that current case levels are far too high. Yes, we get that. Does it need to be below 10,000 a day before it's "safe"? 5000? Or below a grand a day? I bet it will be 2024 by the time we get there, and that's why he's not admitting that.

Oh well, I'm doing my part by getting the vaccine (2nd shot in 9 days.) I'm also doing my part to bring America back to normal - by living normally. It's allowed in my lovely state of Georgia, regardless of what Dr. Fauci says or doesn't say.

Fauci doesn't want to paint himself into a corner.

He wants to keep his options and his 15 minutes of fame going indefinitely.

They may have to break this out to use as a political weapon again for the 22 and 24 races....

My question is, why is Fauci seemingly the only go to expert in this field as far as the government and the media are concerned?

I know I never heard of Fauci before 2020 so you maybe right

Fauci isn't stopping Ohio or any other state from reopening he is echoing the guidelines of the CDC, so he should take up the issue with Mike DeWine.
Interesting example, because people like Fauci remind me of a dad on a family vacation who is clearly lost but won't ask for directions, due to ego, and keeps saying "it's just a few more minutes," like 20 times.

If 13 months into this thing strikes you as too early to ask if we're there yet, when wouldn't be too early to ask that question? 15 months? 2 years? 10 years?

I knew it when I got it in March after having to go through four layovers in the Atlanta airport in one week.

There were no tests available for it yet at the time, but it was pretty obvious what it was.

But all of that is irrelevant to what Fauci knew about airborne viruses anyways.

Masks either are or are not helpful in slowing the spread.....

He lied.

BS.

His opinion on masks in general should have been based on his knowledge and experience with previous similar viruses.

In a just world, Fauci would be arrested and jailed if he didn't stop spreading destructive DISINFORMATION and misinformation. He should be held personally responsible for this destruction.

Fauci has been cemented and at the helm since the early '80's with AIDS and the Reagan years. And joined with every President since. His medical fame meter can't go any higher. At 80 his is well beyond an enormous lifetime of accomplishment, and I doubt there is even anyone out there with his combination of related knowledge plus the decades of experience.

I know that medical recommendations change and so does the research along with it. As we learn more, the research changes, and we apply more science and resources to said changes/new discoveries. But Fauci has never garnished as much fame as he did with AIDS, SARS, and H1N1 like he has with COVID. He has also flip flopped constantly and challenges anyone else in the field who speaks on COVID. He's addicted to it and he has a cushy seat in the WH. Democrats rush to his defense. Both Jim Jordan and Rand Paul have drilled him the way he should be drilled in those hearings, while everyone else praises him and gives him softball questions. He tells Jordan he's ranting again but the fact of the matter is he never answered the question. James Clyburn tried to answer it for him, and Maxine Waters with her obnoxious ghetto attitude wanted him to "shut his mouth." Fauci only takes interviews from those who won't ask the questions we all have the right to ask. It's why he won't go back on Fox but continues to throw shade at Tucker Carlson.

He dances around the subject when asked when can return to normalcy. He's telling people the vaccine won't totally save you. When the CDC says take your mask off once you're vaccinated, Fauci responds by saying put two masks on. He went easy on China. He's gotten other doctors to resign or get removed from his circle if they challenge or question him, or present data that he feels is wrong, simply because he says so. He's not Dr Fauci anymore. He's Dr Doom, and he needs to go.

That's exactly the point I have made to others. He handled the AIDs epidemic for Reagan, SARS, and H1N1. And yet he has never, EVER gotten this much attention before.
