People working full-time in the safety net we all pay for just so profits can be even higher than they would be doesn't make sense.

Yep, and then with automation we're headed for something like UBI...or mass starvation, riots, and guillotines.

If the people don't have a means to survive, they'll take it. Another lesson from history.
Except there doesn’t have to be so many at the bottom.

If they wanted to work, the jobs wouldn’t need automated.

Which is why there's a powerful effort to save/prepare themselves. Touch screen ordering, robotic hostesses and food preparation.

It's callous to me when some people act like fast food jobs are meaningless & automation is a welcomed development. Lot of people will be headed to a demoralizing fate of nothing to do, and terminal government assistance. And honest, entry level work seems to be vanishing. But I wonder what the average person can do to effectively help change this, seems inevitable (?) I do know that services like Door Dash, etc are creating/expanding some (human) jobs tied to fast food, but..
The folks not wanting to work/take jobs will cause the automation. They can thank themselves for it.

And these are the same people who want $15 an hour.

Not always true.. I think a lot of it is a callous ideology supporting technology. Some people believe technological advancement/convenience is always good, no matter how it diminishes human beings.
Where is John Connor when we need him..

It's impossible to run out of low wage workers. There are already millions of them and the illegal aliens are coming in by the millions as well.

Not wanting to work, doesn’t help the cause.

Only as long as a Democrat is in the Oval Office-and Dems control the House and Senate. Sooner or later the adults will be in charge again, and then things will change.

Hard to compete with unemployment benefits and the added weekly money the government is handing out. Time to cut all these long term benefits and get people working instead.
