It's like you have no idea what people have issues with. Everyone supports good cops, and everyone supports holding bad cops responsible for their actions. It's really that simple. No one is saying we don't need cops, we just need better ones.
I agree with the sentiment of what you are saying, and that's how it should be, but not everyone supports the police in general (please tell me that you honestly don't think that).
These events should not be politicized to begin with. When they become politicized they become polarized. As I said in another thread, a bad police officer is a societal problem, not a black or white problem, nor rich or poor. A bad police officer is a liability to the community and to the force, and as you said, should be held accountable, but if these events are politicized it can interfere with the outcome.
But I am confused that he is found Guilty of THREE HOMICIDE CHARGES!!! Seems like Triple Jeopardy.
Not uncommon. Imagine two crimes: Wearing brown shoes after 6 PM, and wearing brown shoes after 6 PM with a black belt. If you're busted after 6 PM with mismatched shoes and belt, you're guilty of both crimes.
A republican hero goes down. Great day for America!
He isn't a hero. We can't move forward as a country with a lack of cognition and empathy to see the other point of view. That Floyd took a lethal dose and that establishes reasonable doubt as to what killed him and that rule of law should be followed and not riots.
P.S. the Democrats support Public Unions that protect bad cops.
I knew if he was found guilty, those who don't think he's guilty would say this verdict was just about being frightened.
Maybe it's about watching that video, and believing what their eyes were telling them? That this cop MEANT to harm Floyd, knew he couldn't breathe, and took pleasure in the angst of the helpless crowd that was begging for his life?
I think he is guilty of the manslaughter charge, but if I were on that jury, I would have done the same as them. Guilty on all counts. I value my life, family and home more than I care about that cop.
I suspect his appeal will be successful on the murder counts.

Good to see that in at least one case police are not allowed to murder people in broad daylight on camera and get away with it.
Indeed. Too many have died at the hands of bad cops. Most are good, but hopefully this will give pause to those who have an ax to grind. Dare we be optimistic?
