Cops should just stop enforcing motor vehicle laws. Then there will be less trouble for black people.

Daunte Wright was pulled over for expired plates, although he told his mother it was because an air freshener hung from his rearview mirror.

Sandra Bland was pulled over for failing to use her turn signal.

Philando Castile was pulled over for a broken taillight.

You know what happened next.

Nah... given the choice I'd rather cops enforce laws than not. When they stop enforcing laws, well that often happens in liberal run cities where they go soft on crime. The results speak for themselves.

If that should happen I hope it's for elderly white people too.

Cops have probably already been ramping down traffic law enforcement in minority areas as part of the "Ferguson effect".

U.S. Pedestrian Deaths Rose in 2020, Even Though Driving Declined

TUESDAY, March 23, 2021 (HealthDay News) -- Despite the fact that Americans have been driving less during the pandemic, pedestrian deaths per mile in the United States spiked 20% in the first half of 2020, new research shows.

The culprits? Increases in speeding, distracted and impaired driving, and other dangerous driving behaviors, researchers said.
---
It also said that pedestrians accounted for 17% of all traffic deaths in 2019, compared to 13% in 2010. Pedestrian deaths have risen by 46% over the past decade, while all other traffic deaths increased by only 5%.
---
In 2019, rates of pedestrian deaths among nonwhite populations were higher than among whites. Most pedestrians are killed on local roads, in the dark and away from intersections

There will more drunks and druggies driving around killing people too. Lots of people who have committed serious crimes get caught in traffic stops too.

Traffic stops for minor vehicle violations keep leading to the discovery of those pesky warrants for more serious crimes.

The deck is stacked against criminals. It's so unfair!

Correction, Please. A BAD first step...... If we did as suggested, our streets and highways would be scenes of carnage.

You want a good first step. Perhaps certain "groups" could start acting more like civilized people and less like savages.

See, this is the logic they are using. I have very little hope.

The problem is not cops stopping motorists for "small" offenses.

The problem is motorists disobeying cops' reasonable requests, and/or running away from cops, and/or committing crimes that bring them to cops' attention.

And the ones who do those things, will do them regardless of whether they're being pulled over for a broken taillight or expired plates or anything else.

The "smallness" of the offences is irrelevant.

Instead of whining that cops pulled them over for something "small", maybe they (and you) should teach them not to do the other stuff.

Then they won't escalate the situation to the point the cops have to shoot.

Then, and only then, will society make any progress.

I know. Crime is WAY too dangerous. Glad the dems are doing everything they can to make it safer for people...
