A Harvard-educated Texas Democratic lawmaker drew double-takes for declaring at a hearing that there are six sexes, prompting a rebuke from skeptics who said his count was off by four.
There is no reason to alter our basic understanding of genders, as well as our entire way of life, for rare anomalies and disorders. That's simply not how a functional, sane society functions. Science has known about these disorders for a long time now, yet they never pushed the idea of there being more than 2 genders before. Do we really need 6 separate bathrooms because of very rare anomalies? I'd like to know what changes people are proposing for these "6 genders".

He explained that there are “six really common biological sexes” based on X and Y chromosomes: Not just XX (female) and XY (male), but also single X, XXY, XYY and XXXY.
Technically, he is correct. However, those last four are genetic mutations and are not common. Most of the syndromes that result from them are “not compatible with life” and the rest come with disabilities, mostly significant ones.
