There are "crazies" on both ends of the political spectrum.
It is not fair to judge 90% of a group by the actions of just 10% (or so) of it.
Well that depends on how much influence that 10% has. Back 15-20 years ago the religious right had a disproportionate amount of influence over the GOP considering it's size so it made a bit more sense to worry about them. They're much more marginalized now. I'm not even sure that their numbers are shrinking but they don't have the influence they used to.
Same with the extreme progressive woke left right now. Even if they are a fringe, you can't just dismiss them as such because they're kind of running the show right now. Even if they're only 10% or so of the left they're at least 50% of the wind beneath their wings and must be reckoned with. These folks who think Jesus will be their vaccine? Not so much.
When it comes to Covid, it's primarily on the right. Anti-vaxxers have always existed for various reasons but they weren't mainstream. It's almost a partisan thing for Republicans to reject the Covid vaccine.
Lots of people here in Massachusetts refusing to get the vaccine. Are you making the supposition that this is now a red state???

I don't know about Jesus, but my immune system saved me from COVID like the 98.2% of people that get it. Imagine that.
All these idiots that think a cloth mask are going to save them are only damaging their natural God given immune systems.
The 1.8% that are dying from it, a vast majority of them had underlying health issues.
I guess the Weather Channel is in on it too. Aren't they science based?... They have an article quoting immunologists stating that children's developing immune systems are being set back a year due to being sheltered too much. Note they didn't say "God Given" immune systems but I think we get the point. At the very least they are going to have a higher rate of seasonal allergies for the foreseeable future.
Children need some exposure to the plethora of viruses, bacteria, and allergens that exist in the world in order for their immune systems to learn how to fight them. The longer they go without this exposure, the less information their systems will have to identify and mitigate dangerous microbes when they enter the body.

West Virginia is practically bribing its youngest adults to get their COVID-19 vaccine as rates have slowed. Residents between 16 and 35 years old will receive a $100 savings bond after their shot, Gov. Jim Justice announced Monday, calling on people to sign up as soon as possible “if we want to really move this needle.”
They should just offer a case of Busch Light instead, would probably have a 98% signup rate. A second case when you get your second shot.
Many pharmacies in the right wing areas are reporting no one is showing, for the desperately needed vaccines to end the Covid pandemic. Many are claiming "Jesus" will save them from it.
Is this this reason why those whom vote Republican have such low rates to get the vaccine?
Barbara Gennaro, a stay-at-home mother of two small children in Yazoo City, Mississippi, said everybody in her homeschooling community is against getting the vaccine. Gennaro said she generally avoids vaccinations for her family in general, and the coronavirus vaccine is no different.
“All of the strong Christians that I associate with are against it,” she said. “Fear is what drives people to get the vaccine — plain and simple. The stronger someone’s trust is in the Lord, the least likely they are to want the vaccine or feel that it’s necessary.”
This post could be lumped into several on this forum.
I believe every adult human has the freedom to choose their own method of death.
Unless that method of demise impacts others who do not want to die or pay for that person’s death.
So if you believe your god will protect you, or all the science is BS, or it’s all a big conspiracy, then take your chances and refuse the vaccine and the mask, but keep your stupid infected ass home and when you get infected also refuse medical treatment.
