Didn't study much Canadian history of much about Canada in school, did you?

The highlighted made me laugh. I suggest you do a little research on Canadian Provincial and Federal relations.

Provinces, aren't shy on making demands.
Que don't count

It was much more open before the variants came. I can still go and get a haircut and do almost everything I could do normally, except travel. However I think even these restrictions will be lifted sooner than later.
What a BS? I live close to BCIT. We are under a lockdown mode, just not as bad as in the east. We cannot dining-in, have no indoor/outdoor (golf allow only) sports, no driving outside your living zone. BTW, we should see these restrictions will extend to next month.

So much idiocy .... How does the NHL's operations affect you, OP? Or are you just playing the impotent old man shaking his fist at the sky?

Logical thinking doesn't seem to be a strong point among some folks.

I'd just point that one reason we had high deaths in Southern California was the Latino population, many of whom live 10 to a house and in very crowded neighborhoods. Many are essential workers and couldn't distance while working, and then they'd come home and spread it in their overstuffed houses. To be clear, I'm all for immigration, and welcome them as I'm an immigrant myself. But there's a reason COVID was far worse in Santa Ana and East LA than Malibu. Canada does not have a comparable situation so comparing overall death rates is a bit strange. If you look at the part of US bordering Canada they had similar death and case rates though the US side is doing much better now because many more are vaccinated compared to Canada.

I find it funny that Canada has some seriously draconian lockdowns STILL going on from the virus.

All of the American teams in the NHL are done with their seasons. They've all had fans back in the stands, and some of them are going back to 50% capacity for the playoffs.

Canadian teams have had zero fans whatsoever, in any game this year. They insisted on zero international travel, so the NHL had to rearrange their divisions this year to have only the Canadian teams in one division.

Through all of this, they STILL were the hardest hit teams with covid cases. They have 7 teams compared to 23 for the rest of the league and those 7 Canadian teams cancelled more games from positive cases than the rest of the league combined!

And mind you: these are young, healthy men. They aren't going to die from covid. But these idiotic restrictions obviously didn't work.

This is a microcosm of what happens when you live in a collectivist, socialist state with no pretense of INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY guaranteed by founding documents.

The people are Canada are subjects of Judy Trudeau's whims. PERIOD. If you don't like it, too bad. Any time there is cover (like during a pandemic) to seize ultimate power, the people there are helpless.

Canada's 7 day average for deaths is FORTY FIVE. Out of a country of almost 40 million!

Yet, their entire country is still going through these mindless lockdowns. It's insane.

Just like people in Canada wait and wait for healthcare, they had to wait and wait for the vaccine.

Ask a Canadian if they would prefer American style healthcare?

If that's the case then our Canadian friends who comment here on the happenings in the USA should just stick to Canada?
How many of "the Canadian friends who comment on here" START threads for the sole purpose of castigating the U.S. as you obsessively do about Canada?

One would, if using the logic often espoused on here, conclude you're, with already two Canada specific threads started within days of each other for no other purpose than to villify Canada, driven by a massive inferiority complex.

The answer to that among my Canadian friends - some of whom are U.S. natives - is a resounding NO.

You can't handle debate?

Canadians jump onto American message boards, talking about American politics, using American software, and bash America all the time.

Many American liberals jump right in with them.

What's the big deal? Just pointing out facts.
