When Joe was asked what has been the world's greatest invention, he wasn't being equivocal when he answered, "Depends".

Following Japan's lead there would be a minimum requirement on the gasoline vehicle. For instance it most probably should have a 1.8 liter engine or smaller.

Its a lot more than just parking...

Japan is a relative small country (and populated). Most people drive short distances. Owning a vehicle is very expensive... between inspections that cost over a thousand and it gets harder and harder to pass as the vehicle ages, insurance, and the road tax. The last one road tax is based on the displacement of the engine. So it makes sense that most normal people with a vehicle in Japan is going to be usually small, easily replaceable, with small engines.

It's the free market at work. That's a good thing, right cons?

If it's a good product, economical, affordable and isn't something pushed on the public by central planners, then yeah.

Europe does nuclear right.

Fission reactors are dinosaurs.

France uses breeder reactors (fusion reactors). The waste from a fission reactor costs an arm and a leg and three eye-balls to transport and store for eternity.

The "waste" from a breeder reactor is fuel for that breeder reactor or other breeder reactors. You don't have to store nothing.

And, the US does nuclear scary.

Why in the hell would you give a nuclear power plant 90 day's notice that you're coming to inspect?

You might as well say, "You got 90 days to hide everything before we get there."

There ought to be on-demand inspections where you just walk up to the gate and yell, "Turnstile!"

Yeah, there's always that.
There is no Fusion commercial reactors, yet. It is the holy grail of nuclear power.

Every Nuke site has an NRC representative that can inspect at any time. The on site representative typically inspects the Operations, (control rooms, daily plant operations of various in plant equipment and tertiary equipment such as transformers, switch yards, etc) not individual systems for mechanical or electrical function, those inspections are done during outages.

We will need more coal fired plants to get more electricity.. wind and solar will never do it.. so who is kidding who? The left complains about coal so the want electric cars.. the left is nuts. completely nuts. We will have to hope the shine shines and the wind blows.. if not .. we have to stay home and think of the good ole days of going to a gas station and filling up any time we wanted.
