Some good news on the voting front, folks.

Yesterday Pennsylvania had a primary and the main highlight of it were two ballot initiatives that would determine changes to this very important swing state's constitution.

The bottom line for both of them is that they severely limit the governor's unilateral power to indefinitely declare disasters and lock down businesses, etc. Both of them passed, even though the viro-doomers were all over the air-waves urging people to vote "no." (I guess they love unchecked, centralized power running their lives).

PA's House and Senate are strongly controlled by republicans and now they will have a lot more power to put limits on what the governor can do when it comes to a pandemic. Limiting or closing business, mandating masks, etc. will be up to the legislature now instead of just the gov. PA's freedoms have been totally up to the whims of one man for a long time now...we see how dangerous that is when something like a pandemic comes around that can be latched onto.

Also, the longtime mayor of Pittsburgh, Bill Peduto, has been defeated in his primary. He was another Covid Commie.

Granted, his replacement is probably just as kookie, but at least he's gone. He also made headlines trying to unconstitutionally ban AR-15's in city limits last year as well.

Good to see the governors and mayors get their power trips curtailed!

Good news for 2022.

This is the silent majority talking...the people who wear the mask just because they don't want to get fired from their jobs. I'm glad we got the vaccines out as fast as we did because it's really the raw drop in cases that stopped this.

Great news for my former Commonwealth! Peduto is another Far Left, bliss ninny Marxist in the Obama vein. Ugh. Good riddance! Go PA!

However, his replacement is even worse. Still, good they got rid of that fat, Gay hypocrite. At least the next guy admits he's a Marxist.

We can hope. Surprisingly these initiatives passed by more than 7 points apiece.

That's a chore in a state as close and as purple as PA.

definitely some crossover democrat votes on these!

Great news. I live across the border from Pittsburgh in West Virginia thankfully. PA was a complete nightmare during Covid. I felt so sorry for the people trapped there. They were coming to WV for booze because of bans at one point. They were very thorough about going through about every joy a person could have and ban it.

PA is a very weird state.

Yes it is. It shows the dichotomy that is happening in ever state with bigger cities and suburbs that are totally BLUE and more rural or semi rural areas that are Red. The great divide between the people that respect Rights, Freedom and Liberty versus the Big Government, Far Left Control Freaks that want to tax and regulate everything is very evident.

Yes. About 60 of PA's 67 counties are red. Pittsburgh and Philly are the only very blue areas and Philly is the 5th biggest city in the country.

The rest is a sea of red.

Funny how the those in the cities probably voted for one person rule. What is it about big city living and the desire for a single leader. Cities like NYC seem to look for charismatic mayors yet they have city council etc. I guess policy coming through one face is easier for them to understand
