Herpesvirus and many coronaviruses have S1 and S2 subunit spike proteins. They can cross the blood brain barrier. It's nothing new. Epstein Barr (mono) does it and has been associated with Covid. In fact, when you get your shot of the vaccine, it's injecting messenger RNA to direct your body to produce the spike protein.

The man-made theory put forth claims they engineered the whole coronavirus and manipulated the spike protein to test it on the Chinese for a vaccine. It's not necessary or desirable to create a live virus for a vaccine. The spike protein RNA or DNA can be simply encoded on an inactivated adenovirus for a vaccine. That is how the J&J and Chinese vaccines are made.

UNC Chapel Hill did an in-vitro study with the bat coronavirus and spike protein that got the NIH to suspend funding for all gain-of-function research.
