That to me is the very root of how the two parties are different. With our world becoming more open and sharing values and information through social media, controllers are going to lose. They are desperately trying to change laws to accommodate the fear and control but they will fall flat on their faces as we grow. Takes time as people are brain washed, but we will get there.
You're off your rocker.

Liberals want a powerful centralized government where the state takes care of subservient people.

Republicans want lower taxes, less regulations, and for the government to get off their backs.

You should not quit your day job and go into political analysis.

It is still squarely in the middle of the stroke belt and some of those counties have the poorest funded school districts in the country ... some things never change.

Today those people are resentful of the US government, and resentful of the people in the urban areas far from them who paid the taxes for generations that lifted them up out of their mess. Those states are still takers, receiving more Federal dollars than they contribute. So they arrogantly rail on about 'leftists' and such. Perfect example of biting the hand ...
Sounds like you are describing urban ghettos to a tee.

Here are some facts:

The more money you make, the more taxes you pay, the more land you own, the more business you own, and the less of a criminal record you have, the more you vote REPUBLICAN.

The less money you make, the less land you own, the less taxes you pay, the more unemployed you are, and the more criminal you are, the more you vote DEMOCRAT.

There are a lot of poor democrats in red states "taking" and a lot of rich republicans in blue states "giving." You have to be a little more granular when you talk about "takers" and "givers."

1) It is difficult to imagine a Republican Party who was fundamentally opposed to the doctrine of "states' rights" to be in favor of "state sovereignty".

2) The Declaration of Independence cannot be anti-disunion, since it was created precisely for that purpose.

3) Regardless of how you spin it, as I said numerous times before, the Republican Party was a protectionist, nationalist, and corporatist party. Those are just the facts my man. You don't seem to like those labels, so you instead call it "encouraging American industry".

The truth is, the early Republican Party had far more in common with Donald Trump than George Bush or Ron Paul.

Sir, I wasn’t spinning anything. I took the information directly off the party platform document used in the 1860 Republican party convention. I then linked you to a copy of the original document. You are the one who seems to have difficulty grasping the facts. Not me.

YES!
Look at your average conservative now, look at the average Republican politician.

Pro LGBTQZ. maybe not so much on the transexual part, but it is changing.

Pro same sex marriage.
Pro abortion, maybe not saying all the way to 9 months at least for now.

Pro immigration, they want legal immigration but still pro immigration.
Pro Darwinism, evolution.
Pro race doesn't matter, there is only one human race.
Pro women are just as strong as men.

The battle line is always shifting overall in favor of the liberals. Conservatives fall back slowly, it isn't a complete rout, but a slow controlled fallback.

Remember when Obama and the Clintons use to say marriage is between a man and a woman.

Remember when everyone, even the most far left folks use to say a man cannot change to a woman

Silly analysis. "Conservatism" in the political sense simply means adhering to tradition and established norms. "progressivism" simply means favoring more change.

Conservatives in the USA believe our traditional values are largely good and should be upheld. The opposite for progressives.

In the USA, Capitalism is at our core, because our country was founded on the idea of INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY and merit, with limited government, rather than the COLLECTIVE GOOD as interpreted by some powerful Monarch.

So capitalism in the USA IS INDEED conservative.

You are correct.

Republicans want lower taxes (for the rich), less regulations (great for business but bad for the public), and for the government to get off (businesses) backs.

What’s good for business is bad for employees and consumers. All businesses would make you work 80 hours per week for a dollar an hour if they knew they could get away with it. All businesses would sell the public dangerous foods and products if they knew they could get away with it. Don’t believe me? Read about the late 1800s in America and other industrializing societies.

I’ll take those “evil socialist” government regulations over corporate libertarianism, thank you.

Baloney.

Republicans just passed a massive tax cut in 2017 that gave tax cuts to almost 70% of the country. Surely you don't think that many are "rich."

Also, regulations lower the cost of doing business, making MORE of it possible! More hiring, more raises, etc. etc.

Businesses that sold dangerous food would GO OUT OF BUSINESS.

The United States is the richest country in the world for a reason. It's not socialism or communism.
