The latest jobs report might have been so-so, but at least the kids are alright.
The unemployment rate in May for 16- to 19-year-old workers dropped to 9.6% from 12.3% a month earlier.
[...]
The May unemployment rate for Black teens was 12.1%, which Dean Baker, senior economist at the Center for Economic and Policy Research, pointed out was “lowest on record.”
Actually, you have to go back to November 1953 to find a lower jobless rate for all teens, when it was 8.6%.
Perhaps you can explain why Biden deserves credit for this? He was just installed a few months ago. Far too early to have any real impact on the economy. Although his continuation of economic stimulus, and paying people not to work is driving a rapid rise in the rate of inflation. The reality is, the poverty rate for minorities reached record lows with Trump in the white house. Minorities never had it better, until Covid-1984 came along and democrats used it as a political weapon to spoil/sabotage Trump's booming, opportunity generating economy.
At any rate, this news is a perfect example of why there is no need to offer extended unemployment benefits, stimulus payments (democrats want another one shortly), etc. The economy has turned a corner. Trump led us out of the woods and put this nation on a path back towards continued prosperity for those willing to work and contribute. The only thing Biden needs to do is get the heck out of the way and allow the free market to do it's thing. But he just can't help himself... Always fidgeting with things he should not be.
As I've pointed out time and time again, Trump fans were celebrating jobs created and improvements in unemployment while Trump was mere months into his administration. If Trump fans can do that for Trump, Biden fans can do that for Biden.
The fact that only people working part time are willing to work and the rest of the people are still unemployed is not something to celebrate.
The thing to celebrate was just prior to the shutdowns for Covid when black unemployment was the lowest in history. Not just teens but actual adults who worked full time.
That is a thing of the past now that we have a racist as president.
Doesn't really surprise me. If you look at a population pyramid for the United States, the largest cohorts are 31 year olds and 60 year olds. 16-19 year olds are quite a bit smaller in number, and there is much demand for workers right now. It's a good time to be a teen. My first job in 1992 paid just under $7 an hour (adjusted into 2021 dollars). A sweet and pleasant teenager at Chick Fil A the other night excitedly told me she was getting $11 an hour and "all the hours she wanted" because they couldn't find enough employees and in fact have turned off their app and closed their lobby because all they can staff is their drive thru.
1992 wasn't a great time to be starting out as a teen employee. There was a recession on, and pay was crap. We did have a lot of fun though. By today's standards, 1992 was still a shockingly analog world.
As I've pointed out time and time again, Trump fans were celebrating jobs created and improvements in unemployment while Trump was mere months into his administration. If Trump fans can do that for Trump, Biden fans can do that for Biden.
The Biden owns the skyrocketing gas prices, the inflation which is increasing by increasing amounts, the massive violence in the country, the humanitarian crisis at the border, the most divided nation in history, the massive increase in debt, and the increasing institutional racism against white people.
This is all related to a resurgence of the best economy in history created by Trump.
Who pays you to post her anyway?
The same people that have bought off China Joe.....the CCP.
