This is a big deal. Parents, teachers and other conscientious Americans need to show up, speak out and push back against this agenda in the schools and elsewhere. A lot of this can and must be done by individuals at the grass roots level. But this move really helps to disrupt this whole nasty, despicable, racist, anti-American agenda in a very helpful and positive way.

Quote:
Texas Governor Abbott signs law banning teaching of critical race theory in public schools

Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a law Wednesday banning the public school system from incorporating Critical Race Theory (CRT), which teaches that America is intrinsically, historically, and systematically racist, into classroom curricula.

While Toth’s legislation does not technically include the term “Critical Race Theory,” it stipulates that schools are forbidden from teaching that “an individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of the individual ’s race or sex.”

Moreover, the bill prevents schools from making students adopt “an understanding of The 1619 Project,” per an amendment added by Toth. The initiative, first published in the New York Times Magazine, is designed to unearth America’s racist roots and “aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of the United States’ national narrative.”

The bill also prohibits schools from teaching that “an individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex.”
Congratulations to the Texas Legislature and Governor Abbott for standing up on your hind legs and doing the right thing here, even under threat of being indiscriminately smeared by these reprehensible people, and also with knowledge that the state could be frozen out of certain contracts and hosting opportunities for sporting events and the like, by the sorts of virtue-signaling unprincipled corporate cowards who run the professional sports leagues and a number of the largest businesses in the world.

This is the right thing to do, the principled thing. And other states will be emboldened to follow this excellent example, now that Texas has stepped up and adopted this new law.

but that goes against their agenda....

divide the country into as many little factions as they can...
...turn them all against each other

and create problems so big that only bigger more controlling government can fix them

Texas schools do not teach... California schools teach... so you have a mismatch in the common education of the American... almost like two different countries teaching different things to their citizens.... the future coexistence as one nation cannot function with such divergences.

Hence why my kids go to private school. The last thing the country needs are California politicans indoctrinated the youth whose parents cannot afford private school.

Good for Texas. Don't these clowns that are pushing the critical race theory nonsense know they are in fact pushing racism and discrimination?

Why can't we just go back to the good old days in school where we were taught that American History is made up of amazing highs and some pretty dark lows but in all the good and bad has made us what we are today and despite the hatred some people have for this great country we are still the shining city on a hill that inspires.
Why can't we learn about the incredible contributions that so many immigrants and people of all races have made to America?

This from the article says it all " The bill also prohibits schools from teaching that “an individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex.”.

That should be common sense but common sense has left the building when it comes to these fools.

We're way past that, there are two realities in America today - Marxist ideology vs Enlightenment Western Civilization

And passing these laws are almost fool proof...
  • State: We pass this law to ban critical theory because it's evil
  • Leftists: CRT isn't bad it doesn't do any of the things you say it does
  • State: That's fine, CRT isn't named in the law, only the things we say it does are banned, so why would you object to things being banned you claim don't exist?
  • Leftists: *Rendered Speechless*

Just for the record, it was the People of Texas who are responsible. Politicians don't go against the wind without the engine of public support.

It's this whole notion on the Left that American children aren't taught about racism, slavery, Jim Crow, etc. If ever there's something that's far from the truth, it's that.
