And in light of the fact we have wide open borders, unprotected ports?
I have a theory, but I'd like to hear yours first.

But we still need to do something about the border and port issue. It's only a matter of time before something does happen. I am sure there are terrorists crossing the borders, probably in record numbers. We may wake up one day to hell on Earth and wonder how it happened. The current administration may be sleeping at the wheel while something is being planned, just like Bill Clinton was sleeping at the wheel when 9-11 was planned.

I think they're doing anything but sleeping. In fact, I think the current administration is fairly active in whatever is going on.
There have been a number of attacks. Just small, lone-wolf types that everyone is ignoring.
I suspect there haven't been any more big ones because money is tied up in Afghanistan and Iraq, their strategists are being killed regularly, and the government is watching for fishy things so closely, the network needed to carry out a serious attack just can't develop.
I can't imagine the parties participating in the Iraq war would attack the U.S. directly right now because, for them, humiliating us out of Iraq would be so much more valuable to emboldening/recruiting more Jihadists-- Everything they've got is in Iraq.
What some people believe is so comical, yet so sad.
