Depends on which problem you're trying to solve.

If you're trying to reduce crime while being careful not to impact the rights of law abiding citizens, then no, going after manufacturers and dealers won't solve anything.

If you're trying to transfer power from the populace to yourself, then yeah, that's a great strategy.

You've already got their balls in a vise with FFL licensing. Now, just start to tighten it up, bit by bit. Eventually, all the balls are crushed and there are no more FFLs. But it's not the government which is responsible for there not being a gun store in your state anymore. Anyone can just open one up. Rights intact!

Is Biden working to get rid of such unconstitutional laws?

Let me know when he starts doing that.

You are beginning to see the disconnect here, aren't you?

Ummm... throw the thugs in jail for their thuggish behavior? You know, beating people, threatening, injuring, robbing, raping, killing people?

Wow, what a new concept. It's even known to WORK, which Biden's proposals don't.
"throw the thugs in jail", and KEEP them there for their ENTIRE SENTENCE.

Instead of "1 day off the sentence for every day of good behavior. ADD 1 day onto their sentence for every day of BAD behavior!

NO plea bargaining when a gun is used crime is used when committing a crime.

Democrats (Neo Marxists) want to only restrict the Law Abiding as tey want dependency and CONTROL of the populace. They allow criminals with multiple, violent Felony convictions to go free and murder again then wonder why the murder rate in the Inner City Black Community is so high. Then do nothing to stop it. In fact they promote it with early release and PLEA DEALS.

Democrats hate Natural Rights for others and hate the Constitution that guarantees Government can NOT take them away.

The fact that the 2nd amendment makes those laws themselves illegal, is carefully not addressed. Biden's apparent readiness to boost those illegal "laws" that prevent people from owning guns, seem to be the centerpiece of his supposed "crime-reducing" program.

The people who wrote and ratified the Constitution and Bill of Rights, mandated that no government can have any say in who can own and carry weapons. They knew that, even if an occasional madman gets a gun and kills innocent people, the advantages of the populace being armed against invaders and criminals (including criminals in government), far outweighed even the occasional misuses of those arms. But modern far-left Democrats seem to think they have a better idea.

As gun violence soars, Biden to target rogue dealers, illegal firearms in new crime strategy

by Joey Garrison
USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden is launching a crime prevention strategy Wednesday in a push to take on soaring gun violence as Republicans blame the rise in crime on calls from progressive activists to cut police funding.

In a White House speech Wednesday, Biden will announce a "zero tolerance policy" for rogue gun dealers and steps to stop the illegal trafficking of firearms, according to senior administration officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The president's efforts come as he's been unable to gain Republican support in Congress to pass sweeping gun control legislation.

Biden seriously thinks, people have guns to go deer hunting.... LOL!

Um, threatening someone with a gun is a crime in itself. If they do that, we don't need to wait until they pull a trigger to know that they're not trustworthy.

Reading your comments in this thread, it seems to me that you're really not very knowledgeable about the gun issue. "I gather" that you don't know or understand the laws surrounding use of force, self defense or firearms generally. Just an observation, and maybe I'm wrong, but your arguments consist of either well established talking points or emotional pleas with no factual basis. I haven't seen any original thinking from you, in this thread.

Also, misrepresenting your opponents as you did above, and I believe in other comments in this thread, is very childish. If you have to rephrase everything your opponents say in a debate before answering it, then you're not prepared to answer what's being said.

" these are all designed to keep people in poverty" B.S.!

NOT getting a high school diploma is the FIRST step in avoiding poverty.

NOT dropping out of school will get you NO WHERE.

Getting pregnant in high school is a sure way to keep you in poverty.

TENS, proberly HUNDREDS, of THOUSANDS of people who grew up in "poverty" have overcome their poverty upbringing and gone on to be productive members of society.

MIraculously the children were not injured and the victim survived

Point is look at the tenacity and determination of the shooter. Does that shooter give a hoot about gun control in a city with some of the toughest gun control laws in the nation already exist?

This incident only had one casualty. Just a few days a Jeep was used to run down a target injuring 6 including breaking the bones of a child.

https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...2ii-story.html

Also in both cases the criminals were aided in their get away. It's not about 'a' gun in one criminal's hands. The planned, reckless & sociopathic use of violence as a tool is the issue.

"GUN FREE ZONES" worked out so well!

That's the point.

When virtually all firearm activity becomes illegal, and half the people have firearms, all of which are serialized and registered, you've given yourself a de-facto excuse to jail anyone in that half of the population, regardless of whether or not any actual crimes have been committed. Talking bad about the government? Oh, look what we found - you didn't have your trigger lock inspected on time last year. Off to the gulag for you.

We're already seeing selective prosecution being weaponized across the country by district attorneys and judges sympathetic to a particular ideology. That ideology just "won" an election and now controls the executive branch of the federal government, and has a slim majority in congress. Whether and how SCOTUS has been fully corrupted is still up in the air, IMO, but there have been some questionable things coming from that angle, too.

Got a gun? Go to jail. That's their goal.

1. The alphabet TV will probably NOT say a word about it. They haven't in the past, so I don't expect them to do so now.

2. Whenever 4 of more are killed by some lunatic the press goes bonkers on reporting the "mass" shootings.

Especially if it happens in a blue area

Funny how that works out!
