Only because conservatives have fought the big-govt, constitution-is-only-a-suggestion Democrats to prevent them from making laws authorizing taking away citizens' guns. Otherwise you would have lost yours long ago.

You're welcome.

But how another might see things. Years ago when a co worker wanted to borrow a gun, I refused him but said I would bank roll a purchase for him. He goes in, finds the gun he wants, fills out the paperwork and I would put down the cash.

He refused because "he didn't want to be on the government's radar."

That made me silently furious. It was okay to him to borrow a major asset from me but he wasn't willing to take the responsibility to get one himself.

.............he's dead now............

That's a new one to me and I have filled out many a blue security form.
Local gun store says it is common. I have bought several more that went right through.

Well, that is the thing with the CHL......they don't run you through NICS because you have already been checked out.

I have CCW, that doesn't work here. We have carry without a permit but you still have to do the NICS no matter what.

Texas loosened their laws a lot and there are a lot of situations where one doesn't need a license to carry (old term, CHL) any more.....but there are certain advantages to having one, such as skipping the NICS in buying.

There are a few places in Missouri that you can't carry without one. One crazy thing in the law, if a city still has a "no open carry" law on the books, you can't open carry there without a CCW. Otherwise, you can open/conceal carry without a permit.

I thought the 2nd amendment said that the phrases highlighted above, cannot be voiced by the government?

And the 2nd amendment, being part of the U.S. Constitution, supersedes anything that a state of local government says?

Yes indeed. And while we're at it, let's give the race and political affiliation of every person in every crime report.

Xoe has bodyguards, plus he's such a badass anyway, what with the way he vanquished popcorn all those years ago when he had leg hair, he has nothing to worry about. Other than remembering what planet he's on every morning.

The laws are unconstitutional, but the courts seldom follow the Constitution.

Well, no, not quite, it didn't quite work that way. In order for that to happen, an amendment has to be incorporated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incorp...Bill_of_Rights
