A flight from North Carolina to the Bahamas was delayed overnight this week after a slate of disruptions, including teenage passengers reportedly refusing to wear face masks during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
And now for the rest of the story from the article.

Sounds pretty bad..it's those darn teens that caused it. Well, let's keep reading.
Quote:
The flight was initially delayed several hours because of a maintenance issue with the first plane for the travelers, American Airlines confirmed in a statement to USA TODAY.
So the initial delay of SEVERAL HOURS was due to no fault of the teenagers. Well let's keep reading
Quote:
The flight was pushed several more hours after baggage checked by the travelers was removed from the plane, in addition to other delays, according to the airline.
In addition to "other delays"? It seems like the delay due to these teenagers was the least of their issues, yet it was the headline of the article. Yep...those darn teenagers.
Oh and then at the last line is an interesting statement.

The company also said that, as the initial plane with maintenance problems sat outside of the airport, “some passengers including the students may have removed masks due to no air-conditioning/ventilation, quite unbearable conditions.”
So a bunch of teenagers who are stuck in a steel tube with no air or ventilation took of their masks. Perhaps the airline should have worked a bit harder to get those people off of the plane? But then they couldn't blame the teenagers now, could they. Perhaps some of the adults should have complained to, maybe they would have been listened to.
They also boarded the plane the next day with the rest of the passengers.
Oh, and I am not saying that teenagers have the right to cause disturbances and there are some that will say "Well they knew the rules". But this article defiantly had a slant of these "unruly maskeless teenager' causing all of these issues, when in fact it seems as if 90% of the issue was a direct result of the airline.

MSM fails again. Thanks for clarifying mask hysteria/fake news
And I'm pretty sure that a lot of the MSM's story was intended for consumption by people at the other end of the social spectrum - older people with limited resources who are more easily coaxed and coerced into trusting unnecessary authority.
When you frequent an establishment or service that is administered by the Schutzstaffel, you are generally advised to follow their dictates. The better choice is to not frequent the service. Either don't bother to go to the Bahamas (there is really no reason to go there anyway; waste of time and money) or hop a freighter--much cheaper and definitely more fun.
