We spent a good portion of last year in our RV boondocking (the practice of camping in the middle of nowhere, usually on BLM ~Bureau of Land Managment, not the other BLM~ National Forrest or National Recreation land.) It was amazing, got to see some of the greatest attractions this country has to offer and meet some awesome people. The only time we wore masks was when we procured groceries. If this goes the way I think it will, it's back to the boonies for us.
Nope. What is happening is exactly what Fauci predicted last year. There has always been doubt we can effectively immunize for any coronavirus. It's part of why there is no cure for the common cold. We are seeing that now.
I would suggest you quit pointing fingers and get in line for the booster. It's been predicted all along. If you are immune compromised then you may need it. We can't vaccinate for this in any traditional way. It would be an unrealistic not to mention a logistical nightmare.

White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said he worries about the “durability” of a potential coronavirus vaccine, saying there’s a chance it may not provide long-term immunity.
If Covid-19 acts like other coronaviruses, “it likely isn’t going to be a long duration of immunity,” Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said during an interview Tuesday evening with JAMA Editor Howard Bauchner.
