A second town in BC has been destroyed, we have had a total of 1,410 wildfires to date, over 280 fires burning now and new fires every day, so far 2,252 square miles just in BC have burned. We've had no rain on Vancouver Island for 55 days now.

Not good in the USA either. 100 large fires have burned 1,947,811 acres (3 043.4 square miles) in 14 states...

All that good lumber going to waste. Could have been cut down and put to use. Who should take the blame?

One of the more concerning phenomena in the news lately is the potential collapse of something called the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, or AMOC. This is a circulation pattern that brings warm Gulf water northward on the surface, and cold Arctic water sinks and circulates back. This circulation is what keeps northern Europe relatively warm (London is at the same latitude as Labrador). They say that if this cycle stops, the North Atlantic could freeze over and the northern US and Europe could see dramatic cooling.

Just an example of how Global Warming, aka climate change, can have unexpected and counter-intuitive effects.

It is, but this much fire is not normal, neither is the lack of rain. Vancouver Island is classed as rain forest, or it used to be.

In a 'typical' year, about 50 million acres of the American/Canadian west will burn in wildfires. Current years have only been about 1/10th of that due to fire suppression.

If you think the "increase" in wildfires can be explained as a result of climate change, you are an idiot and a sap.

It's a constant that the climate has been changing for millions of years. Does anyone think they can control the climate and make it optimal? If so, let's see your plan to stop the climate from changing for the first time in history.

For those that believe you can change the climate, I'll order 30" of rain per year spread evenly across the year, high of 80F, mostly sunny and low of 55F at night year-round....thank you.
