The Vietnamese regime in 1978 was militantly opposed to 'global capitalism' and the West. Now, they're making our shoes, and the Vietnamese are very pro-American for the most part. Could the same thing happen with Talibanistan? In 20 years, will we see "made in Afghanistan" on our clothing and other consumer goods?

Talibanistan will need economic "growth" and "development" for their rapidly growing population, also an increasing "standard of living" if they want to be popular with the masses (which I suspect they do). The Koran alone will not provide that. They will certainly have to integrate themselves into the modern global economy to a large extent, and will therefore, likely adopt many of its values.

Yes the mostly peaceful beheadings will commence and mostly peaceful persecution of women and homosexuals will continue, but mostly peaceful of course.

No, because the "liberal world order" is next to falling apart into major enclaves with their own economies and currencies. Afghan will be in the same enclave as China and Iran and Russia. That does NOT qualify your definition of liberal order.

They enforce one party rule, they force (at least half) their population to cover their faces, and they destroy statues.

Are they really so different?

Kinda scary, I know of an American political party that loves removing statues.

The Vietnamese were not religious fanatics. Big difference.

And Comrade Bowers forgot to include beheading non-believers and disemboweling women for wearing the wrong clothing and burning foreigners in cages.

They will be ushered into the USA to teach the Antifa how it's done. More than likely they will be the ones to go after anyone who dares not fall in line with the leftist party.

You're talking probably another 200 years. Their average population has the equivalent of a 2nd grade education and most cannot read or write.

Also, the Taliban is not going to allow it.

Yeah, they were. They were no less devoted to their ideology (Marxism-Leninism) than the Taliban are to theirs.
