61% of U.S. households paid no federal income tax last year

The majority of U.S. households paid no federal income taxes in 2020, a spike driven by the pandemic-induced economic downturn and multiple rounds of tax-based assistance. The trend is likely to continue in 2021.

Nearly 107 million households — or 61% of U.S. households — owed no federal income taxes in 2020, according to estimates by The Tax Policy Center, marking a 40% increase from 2019 when 43.6% of households didn’t pay taxes..

I have been reiterating he 40% (approx) figure for years. Now I learn it is even worse.

Give it up. It isn't working for you. Trying going with facts instead of your mindless guesses/wishes.

Weird. The urban institute claims that the poverty rate in the US was only 13.7% in 2020.

And as it happens it's the richest that pay all the net taxes (net as in taxes minus benefits used)

The woke want to tax the richest at close to 100%

What do you figure will happen when their money runs out...

This is probably a good time to remind people that see the magic bullet of higher corporate taxes that each time you buy something in the US, even if you don't pay income tax, you're paying the corporate income tax on the purchased product.

It's baked into every corporations pricing\capital return calculations.

I add this because of all the hidden ways that people pay taxes and never realize it.

P.S. You're also paying for all of those harmless shoplifters some places have stopped prosecuting, the higher insurance costs due to rioting and so on and so forth.
