Did you not realize that 99% of these loans were already in the red because these individuals had debilitating ailments, and could not work or get jobs that accommodated their disability

Because you actually were able to get a job that paid enough for you to pay it off

Amazing. I was fortunate enough to get scholarships and pay off the small debts I had left at graduation. I highly discourage anyone getting liberal arts degrees at private schools, but most people with burdensome student loan debt don’t fall into that category. I’ll benefit more from the easing of financial burdens for my peers than the interest paid to the feds on loans that were unreasonably high and predatory (especially for for 18-year-olds) to begin with. Student loan forgiveness is cheap stimulus that will help educated people get on better financial footing, which is really important for future economic stability.

Trillions of dollars isn't "cheap stimulus". I'll be suing whomever I can (I'm sure there would be a HUGE class action lawsuit) to get all the money back I paid, if others don't have to pay their loans off.

Good luck with that.

Maybe I should file a class action lawsuit too, because I got about $250 total across all three stimulus checks. if others got free money, why didn't I?

And while i am at it, maybe I can sue to get back all the tax money I paid because people with kids pay less tax than I do, yet they are the ones who decided to have kids, not me!!!

And can I sue to get back all that tax money I was paying before I bought a house and got to deduct mortgage interest?

You think I don't want each and every penny back from all of that, too?

If we are forgiving loans anything is game. Every loan I've ever had, I demand reimbursement.

In any case it's NEVER going to happen. Ever. It's funny to me that some democrats actually believed it would happen.

$5.8 billion is a pittance in the federal budget. I’m not sure you understand how federal student loan forgiveness or public debt in general works if you actually think you’re paying others’ loans. And I’m not sure you understand how money for the working classes has a multiplier effect in the economy that could very well pay for itself. But good luck with the lawsuit. Sorry others’ good fortune is somehow an issue for you.
