Yeah...a virus that has over a 99% survival rate but according to you the worst pandemic the country has seen in a hundred years..

I don't understand why we need someone to tell us we needs masks.
In my part of the country, our vaccination rate for both shots is approaching 30%. Our hospitals are full, with many on ventilators, many in ICU (including many young children), and many die each day. We have the National Guard in our hospitals because the staff is exhausted and overwhelmed with dead and dying.
I was at an outdoor event on Saturday...maybe a few thousand people mingling in a "festival" environment. I would say about 5% of the people, being generous, were masked.
So why would be need masks? Why would anyone think we have a problem? Our Senator is quoted as saying "we are making a GREAT start on annihilating this disease".
True that...as long as death doesn't bother you. And as long as you don't think about the long term consequences....blood clots in the lungs and brain, tumors, nerve breakdown...that sort of thing, there really is nothing to worry about. As someone above said, 99% survive the initial disease....that's only 3 Million people that don't. Why worry about that, or worry about your body going into a painful, debilitating posture for a few years down the road...before you die?
