The only problem I have with this chart, is it says 'COVID 2020'. The original variant didn't affect children like the Delta Variant does. However, it has yet to be seen if the Delta Variant is any more deadly than the original variant to children..... We'll see......

Yes, if COVID starts approaching flu numbers, it will be troubling.

That's what I was thinking.

The number of children being admitted to hospitals for COVID has grown significantly in the last few months.

That's scary.

Plus the title of the chart indicates it is data for 2019, so there is something askew.

If I had a young child, I would be more terrified of Joe Biden. The videos of how he behaves around children are frightening and embarrassing for our nation. Just imagine how he behaves around children when there are no cameras around

That's scary.

Scary to some perhaps, but no more scary than the flu. Certainly no more scary than homicides, which democrat cities lead the nation in.

400 is the number of pediatric deaths from covid I have read. That surpasses the number of deaths from H1N1 flu outbreak that particularly hit kids hard.

Delta is a far different virus than the original virus. It hits younger people harder. Couple that with the fact that kids under 12 can not be vaccinated yet, and you have a problem brewing.

Will kids die at the same rate as 80 year olds did last year? Probably not, but kids are never supposed to die at a rate similar to adults.

The number of COVID-19 infections, mostly with the delta variant, continues to rise, especially in parts of the U.S. where vaccination rates are low. Nipunie Rajapakse, M.D., a pediatric infectious diseases physician at Mayo Clinic Children's Center, says younger people are among those being infected with the highly contagious virus.

The extra pressure on pediatric departments/hospitals may impact the care for other kids without COVID.

It's a concern.
If I had a child with diabetes -- a very manageable underlying condition that is by no means a death sentence by itself........I would be very concerned.

We don't have to freak out but one of the most common refrains last year to dismiss the virus was -- kids don't get sick -- send them to school.

Now we are seeing them get sick.
