Dr. McElyea said patients are packing his eastern and southeastern Oklahoma hospitals after taking ivermectin doses meant for a full-sized horse, because they believed false claims the horse de-wormer could fight COVID-19.
“The ERs are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated,” he said.
Dr. McElyea said the patients are suffering from nausea, vomiting, muscle aches and cramping, and that’s only in minor cases.
“The scariest one that I’ve heard of and seen is people coming in with vision loss,” he said

Goes back to injecting bleach. You can't fix stupid.
It's possible to overdose on water if you drink too much. If you dose properly you won't have a problem. People need to have more attention to detail and read the directions better if they are going to use unapproved medications.
I came across more people saying not to take the vaccine today including nurses while on vacation. It's fascinating to hear more perspectives from the "little people."
I'm having a hard time believing this one. For one thing, rural people would know how much to take. They are probably in the hospital because it doesn't work.
I certainly don't. Many hospitals in Oklahoma large and small are already overwhelmed with covid patients. On Thursday, the mayor of Stillwater had to declare a medical state of emergency. The Oklahoma State Department of Health is providing assistance with deployment of the Medical Reserve Corp and has issued a statewide call for healthcare volunteers. Due to current high volume of patients and shortage of hospital staff, the Medical Reserve Corp would provide additional nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants throughout the weekend at minimum. They will help man overflow tents that will be constructed Friday morning outside of the Emergency Department and assist with increases of patient volume as space allows.
With up to 40,000 more people in town for a college football game the hospital isn't expected to be able to quickly respond to any medical emergencies that may arise from it. That helps explain the medical emergency issued.
On Wednesday, the Stillwater hospital had 12 patients in the ER waiting for beds to be available. So, folks, please don't be tempted to mess with Ivermectin without the guidance of a doctor.
I want the actual numbers. How many has he actually seen? I live in the middle of a rural MAGA county, with oodles of Trump bumper stickers and even yard signs. It’s hard to get de-wormer for your goats, impossible for your horses. My neighbor who works in the ER says they have never seen an ivermectin overdose or, to his knowledge, gotten a call about it. So, I want the actual numbers. Besides, how are they seeing all these Ivermectin overdoses since their ERs are supposed to be overrun by unvaccinated Covid patients?
