Some people act like Covid was the worst thing that ever happened to the country (even though its a worldwide pandemic), even worse than 9/11. But in my opinion, a mass murder/terrorist attack is worse than an illness, even though Covid has killed many people. But so has heart disease and cancer. Do we consider heart disease worse than 9/11?
COVID was worse because we let the politicians take away our freedoms for absolutely nothing.
Masks don’t work, and lockdowns don’t work. Period.
Many countries around the world are not even close to being normal. Where I am at, masks are required, even outside! Many businesses are still shuttered, with limited seating at the restaurants that are still open. Large gatherings still not allowed. Tourists are still banned from coming in, and it’s nearly 2 years into this thing.
This particular country is nearly 100% vaccinated. But yet, it’s still in severe lockdown. Doesn’t make sense at all.
9/11 was an inside job and covid was a result of middlemen funneling money to the Wuhan lab to do gain of function research so both caused by top 1%ers.
Both caused radical changes in policy and benefitted certain groups, though covid is arguably worse...more loss of life globally, dictatorial government policies, massive wealth transfer and currency debasement.
9/11 hands down. It showed how vulnerable we can be. That day and the few days after we saw exactly how America could come together despite race, religion and political beliefs.
Psychologists say that it is much easier to comprehend and relate to the tragedy or death of a single known person than to the widespread suffering of millions of strangers. This principle holds true here I think.
Most of us who were adults 20 years ago were far more stunned by the sudden violent death of 3,000+ that we could relate to -- cops and firefighters and flight attendants and office workers--than to the drip drip drip of 4.5 million deaths from an invisible killer we cannot see in countries most Americans may never visit. The WTC/Pentagon/Flight 93 horrors got us into a 20-year war that most Americans, at least initially, supported. The coronavirus gets us squabbling over whether 1st graders need face masks in school and whether a medicine that de-worms horses is better than a vaccine.

So do you strongly advocate that everybody needs to get over their cowardly fear of coming down sick with COVID-19 and get out there with people and just enjoy their lives with others. After all, almost everybody dying from it were already near death to start with from other serious health problems, such as being obese, along with old age.
No contest. Covid is worse. I've lost all my freedoms. Every country has lost it's freedoms. There's no where to go to escape the restrictions unless you're a member of the 1%, the political elite, or tech elite. Politicians do not respect the sovereignty of being human anymore. During 9/11, I never lost sleep at night fearing my own government but I do now.
The Chinese virus is equivalent to 1% of the Spanish Flu.
