Vaccine Tribalism Is Poisoning Progress on COVID Science

https://www.medpagetoday.com/opinion...ail-definition

Quote:
The development of the mRNA vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic has been the single greatest scientific advance of the pandemic, and will lead to a Nobel prize. At the same time, there are many legitimate questions and concerns about the dose, the number of shots, the interval between shots, order of vaccination, and the line between individual benefit, collective benefit, and no benefit at all. What is the best vaccination program for someone who has recovered from COVID-19? Does it vary by age? What is the optimal dosing and schedule of mRNA vaccine for adolescents? Does it vary from boys to girls -- given the massive difference in rates of myocarditis? What evidence is needed to support boosters? And finally, as pediatric trials become available, what evidence is needed for regulators to decide if the risk/benefit profile is favorable?

Yes its what happens when one all powerful entity ( in this case the fed govt) controls "the science" and does to its own benefit.

if you really believe the dems push communism and are satanists, you are prone to listen to a whole host of hogwash,

like wise if you support some out-in-left field nonsense....

science is simply the best evidence we have NOW its changes and evolves the more we learn, likewise all scientists will not agree on anything, they are supposed to question

Unfortunately, right now, you have TWO sciences. Both appear to be very legit, titled, credentialed and peer reviewed.
But! There is also ONE executive body that makes decision, which science is wrong and which is right.

Thus, it does not really matter, which science is right.
What does matter, is who makes the choice.

June 2021 - The science around the lab leak theory hasn’t changed. But here’s why some scientists have.

The researchers offered near-uniform summations that few conclusions can be drawn based on the available scientific evidence, but they noted that the context and circumstances of the origin debate have changed, particularly as critics point out that China hasn’t been fully transparent about the earliest days of the pandemic.

The shift reflects how some scientists who previously avoided the topic or were quick to dismiss it are grappling with enduring uncertainties about the virus’s origin, free from the politicization that clouded such discussions during the Trump administration.

Chan said there had been trepidation among some scientists about publicly discussing the lab leak hypothesis for fear that their words could be misconstrued or used to support racist rhetoric about how the coronavirus emerged. Trump fueled accusations that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a research lab in the city where the first Covid-19 cases were reported, was connected to the outbreak, and on numerous occasions he called the pathogen the “Wuhan virus” or “kung flu.”

“At the time, it was scarier to be associated with Trump and to become a tool for racists, so people didn’t want to publicly call for an investigation into lab origins,” she said.

Now, more scientists are comfortable confronting the gamut of plausible theories — particularly given China’s opacity about the topic — although many still caution that entertaining the idea of a lab leak requires clear scientific proof, which hasn’t materialized.

Do you believe this? They lied for political purposes… and if they lied here, where else did they lie? If they are doing this, these particular scientists cannot be trusted with their work. They are compromised.

The "experts" embraced tribalism... and their tribalism took precedent over actual science, and they misrepresented the truth.

I was looking for a related thread I could post this on page one...can someone debunk this? The statistics seem to back up the idea that ivermectin is working. Given the abundance of articles calling for doctors to be punished for prescribing this stuff I must have this debunked.

https://www.thedesertreview.com/opin...1ae87887a.html

I just looked up the latest stats myself...provinces where ivermectin is used, covid cases have flatlined. Debunk this please. If nobody here debunks this I am going to buy 4 more tubes of horse paste and ship them to my father.

"Uttar Pradesh has a policy of treating ALL the contacts of an infected patient prophylactically with Ivermectin. In other words, in Uttar Pradesh, everyone in the house gets Ivermectin treatment even if only one is infected. Ivermectin is known to reduce mortality in infected and dramatically lowers the viral load, thereby helping reduce the spread of the virus to others"

THIS (the highlighted part in the first post) is why long term studies are needed. To answer those questions. Now it seems that the medical experts are just guessing.

Scientists have been compromised for a while, but a fear of "racist rhetoric"?

These scientists need to be revealed.

Yes I also remember the Polio tribalism of the 1950’s, how horrible that everyone received the vaccine.

Mob mentality.
