Sigh. The lengths the media and liberals in general go to to avoid accountability. Most gun violence comes from those who are not registered gun owners and buy the off the street.

Hawaii gun homicide rate 0.3, Sweden 0.4, UK at 0.2

You need to go back and slowly re-read my post and learn something as clearly you know very little about the rural vs. urban situation in the US.

This murder chart of Chicago should help explain the issue to you better:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_...micide_Map.png

There is virtually no gun violence in swaths of Chicago, while in others it's a shooting gallery.

If you're not going to take the time to read and discuss something then I'll know by your next response and will just not waste my time on someone that doesn't really understand the problem in any depth and most certainly doesn't want to.

Correct.

The bottom line is that the VAST majority of gun crime in the USA happens in Democrat-run ghettos in large cities in America. These people will never be interested in obeying the law, and these types of massive slum areas are not really present in much of Europe. They are unique to America because one party felt the need to provide them because of "slavery".

Sad, but true.

A very inconvenient truth.

You're comparing Hawai with whole countries!? Here's one for you - Hawaii gun homicide rate 0.3, Isle of Wight gun homicide rate 0.

I actually bought one off the street years ago because I knew the man who had it was mentally challenged. I have never tried to shoot it. It was one of those old "Saturday night specials" Probably cost $50 new. Gunbrokers had some old ones on their site last year for $20.

Opinions?
Firstly CNN just talk nonsense.

Secondly the US has a problem with gang crime, especially in poverty ridden areas, and this is where the US should be concentrating resources and taking away guns.

It should be made more difficult for those likely to engage in crime to have access to or own a gun.

Finally I have to admit, that if I lived in a remote area of the US, with wild animals that could kill you and wilderness so vast you could easily disappear foe ever, then I would want guns.

I can only imagine what it must be like to hear the howling of wolves around your property, to be wary of running in to bears or bob cats or poisonous snakes etc on a daily basis. Whilst I have travelled I have never actually lived in such a remote environment, where help is often not at hand. So I do understand why a lot of Americans, especially those in rural areas have guns, and I also understand it from a historical frontiersman type perspective.

What is going on in US Cities is a very different issue, and CNN have a warped view of the world which simply reflects their woke leftist narrative.

All it 'confirms' is that the US has a shamefully high amount of people shot to death every year, it also confirms that 'gun nuts' don't intend to do a damn thing about it, they deny there is even a problem (which is laughable when you look at the numbers), they come out with utterly ridiculous excuses but worst of all they refuse to act - which is almost as shameful as the numbers!

And THAT is why CNN blame the increase in gun violence on them - personally I can see why!
