This statue shouldn't have been put up in the first place. Floyd was a low life.
What I think is truly perplexing to some is that George Floyd of all people became a martyr/hero. But it should be noted- he didn't make himself a hero- the officers (90% Chauvin) would killed him then filed a bogus report made him a hero. He was already Eric Garner 2.0.

He remained relevant because everyone entirely ignored Briana Taylor who was a much more sympathetic victim.

And every time someone defaces one of the tributes/monuments/remembrances, his story gains further traction.

If a lot of folks had paid more attention when similar happened to others, George Floyd would not be the one who sparked a movement and gained immortality.

Well, the NYPD can easily get additional, clearer footage of the guy if they don't have so already and much like the drop kicking escalator dude or the guy that punched Rick Moranis....they can find them.

Will be interesting to see if it's a "white supremacist" or just some ANTIFA\BLM\Activist type trying to create attention?

Well, they can afford it even with Patrice Cullors’ homes. The organization has over a billion dollars. These statues are small potatoes.

When someone wants to know how delusional liberals are, just show them the statue of George Floyd.

The fact that a career criminal who did nothing but crime, can get his own statue and a multi-million dollar pay day from the city and gofundme for his family, shows you the terrible consequences of liberalism.

There are of us black Americans who never did 8 prison stints like Mr. Floyd, yet will never get our own statue.

But don't worry..that statue of Robert E Lee that has been there for 68 years is now gone and we can all breathe easy.

I understand your frustration and I share it. There are plenty of black people who are deserving of a statue and will never get one, yet a violent criminal who did nothing noteworthy except meet his fate at the hands of the police, gets one. It's completely not fair.

It's a little different with me. As a white person, I might get a statue. But then the Antifa and BLM folks will just tear it down.

George Floyd was a victim of police brutality and should still be alive today. With that said, statues should be to honor those who made a difference for the good of our country and someone to look up to with pride. Floyd doesn't meet that standard and neither to our confederate statutes.

Union Square was vandalized by having a statue installed of George Floyd!

A lot of people are getting tired of seeing his ugly mug, cannonizing him like he's a damn saint, when he was nothing more than a criminal his whole life.

The presence of his statue greatly belittles the presence of the other 2.
