It's like the Engineers, maintainence people, and supervisors where I work not willing to admit that serious work needs to be done on the machine I work on which would make them look like the guilty party....they keep doing patch jobs, keep kicking the can down the road, until one day we can't run at all, and we are approaching that day. They know a train wreck is coming but aren't willing to admit it, so they keep stalling for time....meanwhile our productivity is half of what it should be ...this is American culture....entropy will soon consume it as our debt has quadrupled in just 15 years and the amount of debt that needs to be generated to create an equal amount of GDP keeps increasing. The matrix is breaking down. Our economic system is set up for birth rates that are no longer occuring. People are more entitled yet corporations aren't paying living wages. They try to mask up society forever and people are sick of it. Central banks now are the bond market and set interest rates and blow up bubbles trying to save a failing system. It's a perfect storm of conditions that make us ripe for a supply chain collapse leading to breakdown in civil order.
There are some things in it that IMO, are not appropriate.
I have a problem with local jurisdictions wanting the feds to come in and fix their water and sewage systems. That's local. But every community in the whole country is affected by what happens upstream from them.
Childcare is not infrastructure. If employers want women of child bearing age, they can pay for it or provide it.
But an educated population damn sure is. I'd go for 2 years free at a community college. Perhaps more auto mechanics, plumbers and electricians would make for some competition.
Anybody who supported all that rebuilding of Iraq and Afghanistan sure should want to do some maintenance on the American infrastructure. If you had a yellow ribbon on your car you should be the first in line to support it.
Some of the employees for defense contractors can build roads instead of weapons.
OK, so $3.5 trillion isn't that much. Lets take that much from the salaries of every elected official in this country. No, since the Democratic party is promoting this, we take that from every registered Democratic elected official. I mean, if it's "not that much" they shouldn't even notice, right?
There’s money. I don’t even know why we have debt - except it all makes the squeaky wheel turn. There’s waste like no end. But I rather they spend it in American projects than foreign wars!!!

we’re dealing with 6% inflation and widespread supply shortages. A massive spending bill is the last thing on earth we need.
