Missouri passed a new gas tax. 2 1/2 cents a gallon the first year. If you save receipts, you can file to get it back. Then they will know exactly how much you drive.

Most states require an inspection before selling you an annual license plate for your car. They will know the mileage from year to year.

How can that be prevented? Do away with state license plates. State inspections.

Why do you guys make these threads?

They track everything you do at all times. I’ve been in private security/loss prevention for years. It’s over and been over for a long time.

We have Allstate and it's cheaper than USAA for us, and we don't opt into any of that track your driving crap with the devices.

Results matter. All those slow people cause congestion and accidents. Go with the flow of traffic even if it's 10 mph over the speed limit.

And they sure as hell don't need to know where I'm going.

All the later model cars have a GPS built into the computer. A dealer can download it.

I’ve been On the road for about 33 years. I’ve never had a moving violation of any kind, any type ever. Not a single one. Now I’ve been in a couple accidents but they were the other drivers fault. 33 freaking years and a perfect driving record that’s all the damn insurance companies need to know about me.

State Farm signed me up for this, but I refused to use it. My rates went up about $23 for 6 months without it. I told them I did not want them monitoring me.

If people want to participate in this voluntarily in the hope that they will "beat" the average and score a cheaper rate, then that's one thing.

But there is too little transparency and too much political lobbying and money passing from from insurance companies to politicians to think this would ever be anything but a law that exploits consumers.
