I guess Pompeo's dream of uniting the middle east against Iran is crumbling to bits. The American fantasy that Israel has a long-term chance of survival, and that they could play up the enmity towards Iran to distract from the Jewish state.
But like most things Americans believe, it is just a dream. The middle east will never accept a Jewish ethno-state, and Americans are throwing money into a bottomless pit in hopes of institutionalizing thus misbegotten state.

It will never work, just give up.
“ Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian returned from his visit to Syria, Egypt and Russia with good news: Talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran had gone “a good distance,” he said.”
Most of the Mid-East has already accepted a Jewish State …. That’s what the Abraham Accords were all about.
Saudi Arabia didn’t sign on, but everyone is aware that Bahrain & the GCS would not have signed without KSA approval. Apparently this movement toward opening some relations between Iran & KSA is coming from Iran.
This is all good news, but won’t effect Israeli relations in the Mid-East at all. Perhaps they can all find some stability. TeamBiden is Out of the Loop.
A number of Biden’s policies challenge his country’s position in the Middle East, in one way losing face on the historical role it has played in the region, but also losing the trust of strategic allies around the world.
His indulgence of Iran in the face of its destructive expansionist strategy that has left Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq in ruins is unpalatable to many.
This bleak reality has forced Arab allies to reconsider their relationship with the United States, not only to avoid potential damage in the short-term, but to also avoid disappointments or broken promises from future administrations.
Several oil-rich Gulf states no longer account for US pragmatism to diffuse tension or offer protection against Iran. They are instead embarking on a series of structural reforms for their own governance. Moreover, they are rethinking their positions with other global powers, such as Russia and China, which the US deem unfavorable.
Peace between Israel and the UAE, was unfathomable at one time. The very idea was the elephant in the room. Meanwhile, Bahrain and Sudan have reconciled their differences. The rest of the Arab world are looking on and witnessing progress on many fronts.
It appears Biden is out of the loop, and governments across the Middle East are beginning to understand that this is perhaps a good thing.
The Iranians want sanctions lifted on their oil shipments. KSA wants Iran to stop the Yemen War.
“a good distance” means KSA allowed the talks, not much else.
Saudi Arabia didn’t like TeamObama (once denied Clinton access at the door) and they don’t like TeamO-Biden either. The bad news for the USA is that they are now turning to China & Russia. Biden is weak and ineffective, Arabs follow the Strong Horse, not the weak horse.
lol, Arabs hate Persians and Persians think they are the Princes of the middle east and arabs are barbarians. Not to mention the religious differences. This is not going to change anytime soon.
