Animal Farm is the far better analogy and Brave New World is probably the most prescient. I think Huxley nailed exactly where we're going culturally and Orwell nails where we're going politically in Animal Farm.

Orwell could see the problems and re-tell them as a story but he couldn't understand why.

All Animals are equal!
Some Animals are MORE EQUAL!

Yes there is if your careful!!
They value their friends and family and in general don't pay as much attention to politics. Most of them spend their time sharing Facebook memes of kittens, dogs, babies... For that its quite handy.

Many of them have Apple devices and Apple as of now values protects privacy more.

This embrace of cancel culture, digital vaccine passports, with radical lefties trying to stick a needle into kids without parental consent is a disturbing trend though... They are a bit messed up in the head, some of them. I think its just a matter of changing times. Many of the people pushing these mandate are women might I add...I'll bet 90% of them are.

Possible explanation here from Catholic prophecy:

St. Hildegard is a "Doctor of the Church" (one of 37 in the Catholic Church)

Being a thought criminal is a real crime there. And children will report you!

Authoritarian government proponents should watch it. A younger John Hurt plays Winston Smith. Eurythmics produced the music.

Not sure if the devout liberal journalists pushing Nancy Pelosi's agenda have the ability to understand the novel or the movie.
The problem is that liberals think it is an instruction manual, not a warning.

Exactly. And somewhere in their experience, Obama, Merrick Garland, Pelosi, Anthony Fauci, and Susan Rice decided that they are superior to other people and have every right to force others to live under terms and mandates that they decree. They should be tried for treason.

''1984" is discouraging, depressing, and all too accurate to what is happening with the liberal politicians trying to destroy the United States.

"Moulin Rouge" was also added, so watching that vibrant movie helped. Freedom. Beauty. *Truth.* Love.

'We can't be fooled!' (from Moulin Rouge)

“They Live” is my personal favorite.
Saw it in the theaters as a wee lad. Always loved this flick.
Now all we need to do is invent those glasses so we can see thru the bull****.

Yep.

It's a great intellectual endeavor to compare the book contents with our reality now in real life. Rather depressing, but worth the time anyway. We are there. And the most pathetic, infuriating part of it is that we voted for it (supposedly).

..George Orwell, real name Eric Blair was nowhere near being a 'democratic socialist'..he was an elite, a very, very well connected elite....educated at Eton, his dad was a wealthy opium dealer when the family lived in Bengal...there's lots more out there about him..

...'1984' is no prophetic book at all, it was a road map of things to come, all planned, already put into motion way before Blair wrote this book, it's the elites wet dream..the book was simply an exercise in 'the revelation of method'...

The book was awesome, the movie was horrible. I really wish they would remake it. But big brother seems to be in Texas now with snitches telling on those who get an a abortion. If that's not big brother than I don't know what is.
