That's a big IF. Too much money flowing through China for it to crumble suddenly. Would take the west completely cutting them off or a change in laws to prevent trade from happening with them. If that were to happen, our debt to them would be due immediately, crumbling and crippling our economy.
China is the producers, we are the consumers. That's the big thing we lost that took us out of the world's best economies, production. Sure we have Wall Street and Silicone Valley, which are great for the global economy, but only a select few of us are getting rich there.
I don't disagree, however, if war broke out, China invades Taiwan for example, all bets are off and that includes debt and the continuation of Western trade, if you want to call it that. China would have their ass handed to them, unless of course China Joe falls a sleep.
