Government shutdown is never a good thing because when it's over and every one gets back to work, they all get paid for the time they were out. It's nothing but a paid vacation for people who don't deserve it and it's paid at our expense.

There has never been a government more in need of being shutdown than the current illicit regime fouling our great halls in DC.

Well you’re in luck. The government will now be shutting down in about a week, despite the thread’s title. Here is the latest: https://lisaremillard.com/debt-ceili...ne-compliance/

The surge in new covid variant is designed to steer focus away from govt shutting down in ten days.

Cocaine Mitch already told them 3 months ago when they gave them the temporary funding that dems have to get their ish together. They have to figure out the BBB plan and long-term funding and this time the GOP isn't going to help them out by increasing the debt ceiling again.

Meh. They'll raise the debt ceiling again, like they always do. Just kick the can down the road, again, like they always do. Maybe we'll get to enjoy the drama of a government shutdown for a week or so, but in the end, the debt ceiling will be raised, like it always is. And somehow, Republicans will be blamed, like they always are.

And it should be blamed on the R's, typically they run it up and blame the D's

Reagan took the deficit from $70 billion to $175 billion.
Bush 41 took it to $300 billion.
Clinton got it to zero.
Bush 43 took it from zero to $1.2 trillion.
Obama halved it to $600 billion.
Trump’s got it back to a trillion.

Default Yahoo news reports on budget panic

Clock is ticking for action.

Debt limit expires on December 3rd (remember in September, budget limit raised).
Security package needs to be approved
Budget needs approval.
CRA - national defense authorization act of FY22 is due.

Wow, busy times for Congress. If only there was no inflation, low fuel costs, strong borders, low crime….

Afghan refugee crisis is still dragging DODs budget because Afghanistan collapsed and we brought half the country to the U.S.

We ready to see the panic as approval numbers continue to fall for Biden as inflation soars. The new budget crisis will not help Biden’s falling poll numbers….
One thing I don’t miss. Govt shutdowns. Those who got closed during the pandemic- know the havoc and expense it creates. Essentials go show up at work and do nothing. I know, I was budget. Wasted money. I do not care for the Congress. Time limits and they need to be held to higher standards. We let them slide waaaayyy too much from what their jobs are supposed to do. They are an embarrassment not having the budget by due date, Oct 1, every freaking year, regardless of who is potus.

A Convention of States is the only remedy to over-bloated federal government shutdowns.

Almost every year, more states sign on to it. I predict Virginia will be next. After the 2022 election, it could happen.

We've had 87 days of shutdowns in the last 14,986 days...not a huge deal, but just another failure of the federal gov't:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Govern..._United_States

99.42% of the time, DC is wasting our money faster than they can print it, or take it from taxpayers.

I pray for more shutdowns.....as many as possible. If we shut it down permanently (except national defense), we'd all prosper in the long run. Yes, there would be hardships initially, but then we'd have 100+ years of amazing growth & opportunity. The gov't is a parasite, & if we could shed it, we'd all be better off financially.
