That's because inside the classroom, the entire world around the student is theoretical.

Collectivism of any kind only works in poorly formed theory and never works in any sort of practice.

Surprised the NYT would release this...it seems to go against the system they support and keep in place, does it not?

What's hurting blue states most is their high housing cost, which is caused mostly by high incomes, but also by various policies that aren't really liberal or conservative by nature.

If they were really commies they'd build low income apartment blocks everywhere, or force people to sell their homes for cheaper. They don't do any of that.

That's why it's important to ridicule absurd Marxist lies such as "equity". It's an effective counter against indoctrination when it's impossible to let our young, impressionable idealists experience communism directly. CHAZ is a great example of the utter failure of communism and also point out how the occupy commies tore themselves apart over how money was being distributed. You can guess how that went.

nope...

the liberal dream is two classes... the rich liberal elite MASTERS, and the poor serf SLAVES living off the crumbs of welfare

Sometimes it doesn't even work in the classroom. Ask any student who has been harmed by getting a "group grade" for a "group project" or "group test."

To date, there is one successful Marxist community outside the classroom: the monastery, which includes the nunnery.

Marx said: From each according to this ability, to each according to his needs.

In the monastery, everyone works to his/her best which means contributions will varies, but even though needs also varies, everyone take only his/her personal minimum with personal conscience to guide them. Finally, each in this community is a volunteer.

What Marx said is actually noble, almost Jesus-like. The problem for the Left is that 'volunteer' bit. We have to know that you are actually living Marxism. But since we cannot read your mind to ensure that your conscience is working as expected, we need the State to be the compelling factor. So until human nature is changed, we need Socialism to serve as a staging point for complete Marxism.
