These idiots think everyone can afford a 30-60k Tesla apparently. Especially hillbillies in "rural areas"

You of course understand that we are talking the future here. I doubt I will ever own a EV, but my kids will and my grandkids will likely never have anything else. There was a time when horses worked the fields, just as there will be a time when people will remember diesel tractors (not as fondly). Times change. EVs are three times as efficient as heat engines. They can produce ungodly amounts of torque and horsepower in a light weight package. Electric motors already move so much in your life from conveyor belts and elevators to railroad locomotives.

Implementation challenges? You bet. But, the technology is evolving by the day. The future is EVs in the cities, in the burbs and on the farm. How much they penetrate your world depends on how old the "old" in Oldhag is. . Eventually, the transition will be almost total.

Sure there is. You just described it. You sound as out of touch (or arrogant) as Buttigieg assuming everyone in a rural area is a “farmer” and has the ability to their own electrical work

Wow, this guy's a real winner......

So, people who live in areas with little to no EV infrastructure and can least afford the initial high cost of EVs are the perfect candidates for EV's? Okay.....

From the article: "He promoted Biden’s Build Back Better social entitlement bill for restoring a tax credit of up to $12,500 for union-made electric vehicles, noting “families who once they own that vehicle will never have to worry about gas prices again.

Not true. How are everybody's packages and food delivered? The price of gasoline affects the price of delivery, which ultimately affects the consumer.

Let me know when the adults are back in charge...
This is just one more example about how so many people are absolutely clueless about how "other people" live.

We retired to a rural location last year where the closest major supermarket is in a town 15 miles away -- but, because we are retired, we now drive only about 300 miles a MONTH (compared to about 1,500 miles a month when we were living in a suburb and working). There is no way we are going to trade our gas-fueled 2018 vehicle (our only vehicle) with just about 35,000 miles on it for a new electric vehicle. Pete is evidently living in la-la land.

Anti-elitism and disdaining of “experts” identify this board for what it is.

Should we also buy electric powered generators for charging our electric cars during power outages.

And at least one of those "imbeciles" have become POTUS, too. (Well, not technically an imbecile, but certainly someone who would probably have found it difficult to navigate even community college without his family name.)

Tulsi Gabbard would make a decent leader on the left side of the spectrum but she has been speaking out against the radicals lately so that also rules her out.
