Everyone flying in and out of Australia have to be vaccinated, yet someone managed to bring in the latest variant. They never should have locked down the country. They should have had the elderly and those at risk shelter in place until they could be vaccinated, and leave the rest of the population alone. And ventilators never should have been used. How many people did doctors kill by ventilating them?

It took a while to understand that people with covid-19 and low blood oxygen levels were different and might not need ventilators. Once that became apparent alternatives were used until it became evident the patient would die without use of the ventilator. It is incorrect to say "ventilators never should have been used".
Getting sick will happen regardless at a much lesser, milder rate with vaccination.
However, with vaccination, very few will be hospitalized or die.
That is the goal!
That's why I got my 2 shots. I think it mainly depends on if the person has a chronic illness. They and the elderly need the vaccination more than most other people do. But that doesn't mean everyone has to get the shots.

Reason: I certainly wouldn't go on a cruise ship. Not a good place to be during a pandemic.
