Did anyone watch Kim testify yesterday. I know she is going through a terrible time.....but I do not think she did a good job, and came across as unlikeable IMO. She is 49 years old. We know what women go through at that age.....for some it is a big big change. Wonder if that played a part, in her becoming confused about the gun and taser.
I do hope she is found not guilty. Wright, is responsible for what happened to him.

You are as bad as Cloud99. Menopause did not affect her actions that day.
I would say she got flustered and panicked. I thought during her testimony she said she had never had to draw her gun before in all the years she was an officer. The whole situation is sad.
I don't see how you can say Wright was responsible for being shot after he pulled over and was sitting in the car.

Just “sitting in his car”? Obviously we were watching different videos.
Has experience ever been used to prove negligence?
I have not read much about the case nor the trial, but I cannot recall where anyone ever relied on experience of the accused as the evidence of negligence.
They are essentially trying to claim errors never happen by experienced people.
This is tragic, but it is an error, not all errors are criminal, and I glanced over the charges, I fail to see how she can be even charged, let alone convicted.
Seems another Rittenhouse thing, where the gov just wants to throw mud in hopes it sticks.
I agree but she was there as the teacher for the officer. She was partnered with a rookie, and training was the reason she was there in the first place, and then made a deadly mistake. However, my understanding is the car was running, and if that thug would have been able to put that car into gear, those cops may have been injured. Another words if this is the case, it most likely is the reason why it appears panic may have caused a lack of immediate focus.

Wright did not follow the officers orders. He was trying to get away, with one of the other officers hanging half out of the car. Wright had outstanding warrants on him. When you are a criminal, and you try to run, that is on you, if you get hurt.
How do you know what affected Potter. I know of women who have alot of issues going through menopause. She went through 26 years of training, for this day. Something was not right, with her. Yes, it is sad.

After they told him he was under arrest he jumped back in the car was fighting over the gear shifter with the other officer he wanted to run. We can argue about him being shot or not but if we are going to have police officers stop people like him some are going to get shot. Running from the police in a car justifies them being shot. IMO she had the right to shoot another officer feet were under the path of the wheels. If a 3000 lb car with the gas peddle floored going over your feet is not great bodily harm what is then?

He had a bench warrant for a weapons violation. He resisted arrest and got back in the car, (cops have no idea if he had a gun or not and there was a valid suspicion that he could have had a gun based on the previous weapons violation), he was trying to drive away with police officers halfway inside of his car, which could have caused great bodily injury or maybe even death to those officers. He also had a restraining order against him and they had not yet determined the identity of the female passenger. What if this female was the one who took out the restraining order? What if the female was in trouble? So many details that the tv news loves to sweep under the rug and just say "oh, this poor poor little child who was killed over an air freshener hanging from his mirror..."
Kim Potter screwed up.
But Wright has himself to blame.
And I sincerely hope that his family DOES have to pay out any money that THEY receive to those whom Daunte harmed in the past. I feel bad for his family. But I also feel bad for those who were Wright's victims, as well.

No, she was to blame. She pulled the trigger that killed him. Stop blaming the victim.

She was justified to pull the trigger he was a wanted felon with a warrant trying to drive off with two police officers leaning inside his car. He was resisting arrest and using his vehicle as a deadly weapon.
