By the time it gets to the grocer multiple businesses in the supply chain have added to the cost. Then the grocer has to mark up to cover his costs.

There is no one rich billionaire sitting there collecting all this money.
Paper, plastic, metal has all gone up as well. That is your food packaging.
Livestock, crops are commodities and they fluctuate due to weather conditions and the pandemic has only added to the cost.
Fish is up because of fuel costs for the boats.

Fuel is driving cost at all points in the supply chain.
So when we "go green" will fishermen be put on sailboats ?
How will anyone make packaging ?
How will livestock get to market...will cattle drives come back ?

It's not just your car that needs gas people.

The FTC is investigating why the supply chain disruptions and price increases.

There is a lot more involved than some want you to understand. Especially those who control what you buy and where you buy it.

1000% genuine.
Warren should have had the House bimbo AOC on standby to open it for her. That is her only qualification for office.

Warren sent a letter to the supermarkets themselves accusing them of raising prices.
If you look at Kroger there is no "massive profit".
Every step in the supply chain has increased costs and the snowball effect is the high price you are paying at the grocery store.
Fuel is the biggest part of this inflation.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said in a letter to leadership at Kroger, Albertson's and Publix that the grocery store chains are profiting off of struggling American families during the pandemic.

"While many Americans faced the loss of jobs, homes, and loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic, grocery companies like yours saw immense gains through record sales and profits," Warren wrote.

There are several articles about the FTC investigating the producers. And some retailers, especially Kroger about increase in profits and stock buy backs. But it's all corporate media. Find a site you semi trust and read all about it.

Amazing how some corporations are vilified and some can do no wrong. Looks like it all depends on who is talking.

Kroger has an operating income of 1.7% for the last 12 months. Had OI of 2.5% for FY21 (Jan). They had an OI of 1.8% for FY 20 and 2.2% for FY19.

She is, in essence, accusing them of NOT raising prices enough, since their OI has dropped in calendar 2021. Or, she's decrying that their gross profit increase of 1% should lead to a reduction in prices of 1%.

But this thread is about Warren and what she is telling the public.
She's accusing the grocery stores of raising prices and doesn't mention the chain or FTC investigation.
