I'm beginning to believe more and more that his handlers hate Brandon's guts so much that they are intentionally allowing him to make a fool of himself. You mean to tell me there was no one there to cut off the caller like they do on the radio when someone swears? Not buying it!
If Biden had all his faculties I'd have said maybe he was calling the guy's bluff, throwing a perceived insult back in a detractor's face, a comeback of sorts, ( just how should someone respond to something like that in a similar situation?), but given his mental, emotional status is at best questionable, it's hard to say what he was thinking.
While I'm no Biden fan by any stretch, and am as frustrated, saddened, and angered as anybody at the direction our country is headed in, including the deep divisions among the populace, and Biden's role in this process, I see incidents such as this as nothing better than middle school/ adolescent antics.

You have a point there. Beyond that, surely his handlers must know that having Biden relatively unscripted answering calls means we could have seen any number of appalling ‘gaffes’. Even with Jill there to smooth things over. This was actually a mild ‘gaffe’ relative to what we could have seen.
(Gaffe being the most polite term possible for the issues involving Joe’s cognition.)
He’s just not up to the unscripted and routine back-and-forth of phone calls, press conferences, interviews, etc. So why’d they put him out there, again?
The sad part is the Socialists have proven they can steal our elections and install an eggplant as president and there's not a damn thing we can do about it (yet). They own our vote, they own our income - they own us (for now).

Democrats lack the ability to focus on the real, important issues and spend all of their time and energy on meaningless "eddy current" issues while the nation burns. This inability to prioritize and maintain focus is why democrats are so terrible in the actual conduct of government. One simply shouts, "Squirrel" and their attention scatters in a hundred different ways.
Having a dem in control is like riding in the backseat of a car with no headlights, the doors locked, and a drunk at the wheel. This is why conservatives despise democrats; if they would just stop, let us out, and let them kill themselves, it would be okay. But they want us to die at the hand of their idiotic decisions.
