I think most guys would welcome the option. I got divorced years ago and I have since remarried. I had a child with my first wife. After going through child custody battles with my ex I never wanted to have any more children. I was single for years and dated at least 20 women. Having the option of a pill so I could have sex with whoever I wanted whenever I wanted without having a worry of knocking one of them up would be glorious lol.
From what I have read most men arent welcoming male contraceptive. And it is obvious that is true as the male contraceptive has been in the works since the female contraceptive and it took 6 years for FDA approval for the female contraceptive and here we are in 2022 and the male contraceptive is still in clinical trials.
Men don't really want to take drugs that alter their reproduction. The primal man inside doesn't want to be constrained. Plus, what if the drug messes up his libido, permanently? Men somehow forget to do things, only certain things. And so he forgets to take the pill. Or, at that moment of passion he lies and says he's on the pill.
The frequency of men forgetting to take the pill and/or lying about it would likely happen at rates similar to those of their female partners.
I believe that would also include those that lie because they secretly want a pregnancy, again, just like their female partners.
I also believe the lie would go both ways.
Men that secretly don't want a child might lie by claiming to not be on the pill while those that secretly do want a child might falsely claim to be on the pill.
Like women, they can act surprised when whatever happens happens (or doesn't happen).

I would agree that many men would welcome this and experiences like yours are why. There is a trend today of woman not wanting marriage, walking away from marriages and if children become involved it is the man who ends up saddled with large amounts of child support and often a great deal of separation from their children. Right now men are at a disadvantage if children are born. A male pill would give some control over the decision to have kids back to men.
Having said all that I believe all this is terrible for our society. Marriage and family makes for better men and women. Children raised in two parent households do better.
I bet there’s still a lot of unplanned pregnancies by guys you would’ve otherwise prevented them if they had some easy solution like a pill or implant.
So how many births do think occur with the male being staunchly against it? Religiously using condoms, knowing their mate is using contraceptives, wanting abortion?
A more simple translation: there are plenty of 18-40 yr men that would like to fully (no condoms) enjoy sex without worrying about pregnancy. Some sort of pill or implant or injection that approaches 100% effectiveness would be appealing to many men.
I wonder why none of these men are pushing for FDA approval of the male contraceptives that have been in clinical trials for decades?
Some of what DrPibb stated were exactly the reasons some men interviewed said they would not be interested.
Years ago, when I was in college, I had to take a health class. The professor was discussing the possibility of a male birth control pill. She, a liberal, thought it was great. She asked the men in the room if they would use it. Only one raised their hand. Then, she asked the women in the room whether they would want their boyfriends taking a male birth control pill. All of the women (college aged) said no. The professor was stunned and asked them why not. All the women said, "the men today are already girly enough, the last thing they need is a pill that reduces their testosterone levels even more".

What made them think it would reduce testosterone enough to make them girly?
...there already is a 'form of male birth control', it's called porn...young men spend way, way, way too much time watching porn while depleting their life force in the process...
Sperm does not get depleted. Males produce new sperm throughout their lifespan. Eggs on the female side do get depleted.
The professor had described the pill as being able to lower the testosterone count to the point of not being able to impregnate a woman.
And she was a medical professor?
