Rivera was familiar with Rogan, as well as Malone. She knew that Malone had been banned from Twitter for promoting Covid-19 misinformation, and that he had been making the rounds in conservative media circles undermining the efficacy of the vaccine. When she watched the interview, she was horrified to see that he espoused various conspiratorial and baseless beliefs, from the idea that “mass formation psychosis” is responsible for people believing in the efficacy of vaccines; to the claim popular among anti-vaxxers that hospitals are financially incentivized to falsely diagnose Covid-19 deaths. The episode featuring Malone went viral, and was shared widely in right-wing media circles as well as on Facebook, where the link on Spotify has been shared nearly 25,000 times, according to CrowdTangle data.

Rivera is one of 270 doctors, physicians, and science educators who signed an open letter calling on Spotify, which obtained exclusively streaming rights to the Joe Rogan Experience in a reported $100 million deal, to take action against misinformation on the platform, such as that contained in the interview with Malone. “With an estimated 11 million listeners per episode, JRE, which is hosted exclusively on Spotify, is the world’s largest podcast and has tremendous influence,” the letter reads. “Spotify has a responsibility to mitigate the spread of misinformation on its platform, though the company presently has no misinformation policy.”

But Rogan is not posing as a medical professional in any way. Anybody who is going off of his podcast, that's on them. This man is not allowed to come to his own conclusion and talk about it?
I find it asperating how many intelligent people are down with all of this nonsense. What, they've forgotten their history lessons from grade school, college. News flash: they're not the good guys here.

It's almost as if they want to control all the information that people can access.

And the list includes PhD students, marriage therapists, reporters, psychologists and others.

I'm sure if Rogan went out he could easily get 20,000 signatures in a day to keep the recording up.

take a drink every time it mentions "was banned on twitter for spreading misinformation" as if that means ... anything.

It doesn't. All it means is that twitter cancelled an account.

Does anyone consider twitter an accurate source to verify health or science information?

Says to themselves ... well TWITTER said it was bad ... so it must be bad.

Twitter is the new Snopes.

Kyrie Irving (NBA player) said the earth was flat. Was there a big effort to ban him from major social media platforms? No. Why? Because most adults have observed in one way or another that the earth is round.

In this case, Dr. Malone and others have made claims about COVID. So has Dr. Fauci. Instead of letting their statements exist and allow what's true to come to the surface, there's a big effort to remove Dr. Malone from social media. Why? Are those who seek to remove him afraid of the truth coming out? And why is Dr. Fauci allowed to continue to make false claims that have not been accurate?

It's science, right? If so, observation is part of the scientific method.

However, observation is not part of the authoritarian method.

Authoritarians want you to believe them before you believe yourself and your own senses.

When you can’t debate the merits of a position, you push for censorship.

Except he has brought onto his show medical professionals who have backed up his claims. Sadly social media has also been banning medical professionals and other scientist who dare to question the approved message.

Yep...

When a bully in the schoolyard wants to take your lunch money, he doesn't debate the merits of why he is better suited to make a good use of those funds.

Fauci kool-aid drinkers. Or hired hit-men and women to get those on Biden's dirty dozen list. In the meantime the narrative they're advocating is falling apart.
