An 88-point victory in a high school girls basketball game did not earn the winning team’s coach praise ... it got him suspended.
Sacred Heart Academy officials suspended coach Jason Kirck for one game after 92-4 demolition of Lyman Hall-Wallingford on Monday, the Hartford Courant reports. In addition, school president Sister Sheila O’Neill apologized for the lopsided score.
Al Carbone, commissioner of the Southern Connecticut Conference in which both schools belong, said it’s hoped the incident can be used as a chance learn about sportsmanship.
