The OP mentioned nothing about the President, or any previous President's. It is common knowledge among those who pay attention to the news that the Democratic Party, or at least fringe members, support defunding the police. Domestic terrorist organizations (Antifa/BLM) support degrading/ defunding the police. All the recent murders of police officers have occurred in Democrat-run cities (NYC, Houston, etc.)
It isn't Republicans who are degrading and defunding police departments and officers.

Yes, it's a risky job. In addition, studies suggest police officers in the US have a lower life expectancy than the population average, but much of that is due to other factors besides being shot.
Police officers need to go on strike to demand a repeal of these insane cashless bail laws that and other hostile, anti-police polices that Democrats the country over are putting into place.

In the end - police forces are reduced. It meets the same goal as defund the police.
