My state is changing that reporting next week. Should make for some interesting results.

Always go to the primary source, that way you can judge yourself.
I reviewed the document in that link. There are no changes to how often hospitals report data to the feds. It's still daily for most hospitals but rehab hospitals and psych hospitals are allowed to report weekly. This is the same as before.

The feds are now requesting some additional data elements mostly specific to tracking pediatric related data. Also the feds are asking for weekly reports from hospitals reporting regarding quantify of therapeutics used that week and quantity still on hand. The latter is to track the covid antibody treatments.

This is because the virus isn't killing everyone off now.
Why do you think they switched to reporting "cases" instead of hospitalizations, vent use and deaths ?
Because those numbers are going down.

The virus seems to have mutated to a less dangerous form.

Just wish they would counting Death with COVID as well. A young kid from the inner city could to go the ER with a gunshot would to his abdomen. They still check him for COVID. If he dies on the operating table but tests positive, he is classified as Death with COVID.

Just a massive attempt to keep the sheep scared.

The current governor of New York agrees with you, as do most reasonable people. But….. the hospital gets higher reimbursement if it’s listed as Covid.

Right, I agree. I was just talking to the newscast writers.

I also agree that the virus has mutated down to something less severe. Of course, they will continue to use scare tactics.

They still report hospitalizations. And they still report deaths and cases.

The last time our county reported daily cases was eight days ago -- on January 7.
