I doubt the people in Venezuela thought it could happen to them until it did.

Our systems are falling apart. Systems we are very dependent upon.

The media's job these days is up for debate. Do they report the news or create the news...

They follow the agenda.

The MSM can legally lie to the American public.

The US government can legally use the MSM for propaganda purposes against the American public.

The media toes the line.

Wasn't Venezuela a socialist dictatorship long before they 'fell apart'?

Once we hit that level of Socialist Dictatorship,..then you need to worry about that level of collapse.

How do the shelves look at your local stores?

The media does report the news. But it's obvious, to me anyway, when they add their own subjective biased adjectives unnecessarily to pre-suppose a reader's reaction.

It may be just marketing at play. Gotta be more sensationalist than the next to earn those views. And we have become so desensitized to a lot of drama that plain ol' "reporting' the facts isn't cutting it anymore.

Of course, the result is tabloid zombies eating up , echoing, sharing, snowballing over some blogger's op-ed loosely splashed as a trending fact piece. And the media can deny any responsibility.

Write a piece on Toilet paper disappearing , then post it on the front page, of course people gonna click it, Then the algorithm tags it as trending, and it gets pushed up even more and for longer. Then these 'portal' news sites like Yahoo, repost it on their front page,..and so on.

It's a mess. And we need to do better at sorting it out.

Come on. Empty shelves at the store is a visual cue that something is wrong. Having the President flat out deny what we are seeing with our very own eyes is unsettling.

People aren't stupid and they know that what they are seeing is not right.

I am in and around NYC...they look fine. One week they were out of the brand of cheese stick my kid likes. so I got another. This week they're back.

I haven't run into any situation where I was like,..oh man,...no chicken this week, or no paper towels today.

I don't doubt these other places, like DC maybe, are seeing this. But I haven't read a good reason why those specific areas are hit. Trucks go to some States but not others?!

And whose to say the shelves won't be stocked by next week? The news cycle is spiking like a crypto stock. it couldbe Armageddon one day , then the next , not a word. Or moved on to Snow storms.

So was the reporter, standing in front of burning buildings, saying it was a mostly peaceful protest, reporting the news or trying to create news that kept with an agenda? If clicks is all they were after it would have headlines with the word "inferno" in them.

We had a week without chicken (multiple stores), and heavy cream and Gatorade are in short supply.

The paper goods are also being bought up, aisle is very sparse.
