President Biden is expected to propose a 4.6 percent pay raise for federal employees and military service members in March, the Washington Post reported.

The employees and service members would receive average increases of 4.5 percent in January through the fiscal 2023 budget that the president is expected to make the proposal next month.

Democrats need all the wage growth they can get (in any sector) to make it look like wages are keeping pace. They don't care who gets the money.

Given inflation that's not unreasonable at all.

Root problem remains to be inflation.

The raises need to be double digit to keep up with inflation. The $0.02 in federal mileage reimbursement for FY22 is an example of how Biden doesn’t support the working class but sure, raise federal employees wages by percentage, which benefits the rich federal employees at the top (SES, Flag/general officers, etc.).
A 4.5% for Fauci at $450,000 will result in a $20,000 pay increase. Nice.

Since they're such fans of socialism, I say pay increases should be on a sliding scale from 10% to -10%, with the most senior employees like Fauci and Biden getting -10%, GS15/equivalents getting 0%, the most juniors getting 10%, and everyone else somewhere in between, until everyone's paid the same.

That will help tame inflation!

Biden (Obama) gets crazier every day.

Leap-frog economics - yeah, that'll work!

Inflation is high - raise wages - Inflation is higher - raise wages -

Oddly, democrats really "think" this way.

Rarely, if ever, do they consider the consequences of their actions, which is the reason their policies only work between the ears of a liberal head, but not in reality.
